CHARLTON HESTON - here is the totally classless statement by totally classless George Clooney
sistertoldjah.com ^ | 4-2008

Posted on 04/06/2008 8:57:42 PM PDT by doug from upland

Heston was a former Democrat who had a wake-up call in the 80s, and his position on gun rights earned him the deep lifetime animosity of the Hollywood left - from the likes of disingenuous “directors” like Michael Moore, and mediocre actors like George Clooney, who infamously spat out the following back in 2003:

In receiving a special filmmaking achievement award from the National Board of Reviews, actor George Clooney joked that “Charlton Heston announced again today that he is suffering from Alzheimer’s.”

Clooney still had a chance to apologize for the bad humor day. When questioned about the remark by New York Newsday, Clooney sputtered: “I don’t care. Charlton Heston is the head of the National Rifle Association. He deserves whatever anyone says about him.”

Before he passed into Alzheimer’s, Chuck Heston was heard to remark, in reference to george clooney and in deference to his friend, Rosemary Clooney, “Class skips a generation.”

For example, George's dad is on record saying that he believes that any American who would own a gun is a barbarian. We've not elected that kind of liberalism before, and I don't think we will this year, either.

Nick Clooney ran for Congress with this attitude in 2004 in Kentucky. His butt was kicked 54-44%.

I’ve long despised Clooney, and I’m sure this quote was part of that. I also remember him complaining about having to do a press tour to promote a movie and saying, “I have it much tougher than Clark Gable did!” Oh, did you fly combat missions over Germany, you sack of crap? The old Hollywood guard toured to promote their movies and war bonds all the time. Spoiled, overrated (in looks and acting ability) baby. I wouldn’t see a damn thing he was in.

George Looney is scum of the absolute lowest order.

Anyone who laughs at the fatal misfortune of good men deserves the hottest cauldron that Hell has to offer. George Looney has proven that he is a cretin on Bill Maher's level.

I have no time for trash-act , box-office-poison Clooney.

Mr. Heston, OTOH, was truly a class act. A great master of his craft --- and a great patriot. God rest his soul.

Along with the expected bile eminating from those cretins, they were lambasting this man for advocating an Amendment to the US Constitution. Completely clueless.

I wish I liked Clooney's movies enough to boycott them. But I seldom want to see one. The remark he made about Heston was classless, but the fact that he turned down a chance to apologize was even more so, IMO.

It reminds me of someone who gets drunk at a party and hits on everyone, tells racist jokes and exposes himself, and never apologizes for his classless actions.

Some rival studios thought Universal's estimate was too generous, by upward of $1 million, placing "Leatherheads" at No. 3 below the new Jodie Foster family adventure "Nim's Island," which reported $13.3 million. Final data will be issued on Monday.

In 2003 George Clooney used a speech at the National Board of Review awards to ridicule Heston’s illness, joking: “Charlton Heston announced again today that he is suffering from Alzheimer’s.”

Heston responded by saying: “I don’t know the man, never met him, never even spoken to him, but I feel sorry for George Clooney: one day he may get Alzheimer’s disease. I served my country in World War Two. I survived that; I guess I can survive some bad words from this fellow.”

Nick Clooney not only has his ass kicked, but it was kicked after having his very important movie star son campaign for him and accepting large donations from said son’s very important Hollywood friends. It was fabulous. Of course, the media never mentioned a word about that little fact.

Clooney, physically, is one of those swarthy types, like David Copperfield, about whom my wife always says, “You just KNOW he has bad breath!” (About Bill Clinton, she said about 10 years ago, “He’s one of those guys who, when he takes his clothes off, you just know he smells like cheese”.) These descriptions apply equally to everything else about them. Clooney is one of those entirely average actors, who’s been catapulted into stardom, without ever
conveying any sense of who they are as stars, or WHY they are stars: actors as diverse as Brando, Jimmy Stewart, Gable,Gary Cooper, Cary Grant, Eastwood, even Charles Bronson, had star presence, effortlessly, just because of who they were.
You can’t manufacture a quality like this, but Clooney has been “bequeathed” it , he has it “on loan” by the Industry and the critics, as payment for his “serious” Liberal propagandizing.

Gee, I must have missed the part about George cLooney traveling up into the mountains of Central California to retrieve the bodies of his wife and mother-in-law after they were killed in a plane crash, see that they are properly buried, and then fulfill his wife's last request by joining the military and becoming a genuine war hero.

Note- The part about Carol Lombard's last request is from the telegram she sent her husband just before boarding the ill-fated flight, telling him he'd "better get in this man's war."

Doug, Mr. Heston’s passing reminds us that we must savor being in the presence of great men, because we sure have an abundance of lesser men, like George Clooney.

I have a visceral dislike for Clooney—your recounting of what he said about Mr. Heston reminds me why.
