Sen. Biden: Troop buildup is failure
A leading Democrat on Saturday declared last year's troop buildup in Iraq a failure.
Sen. Joe Biden, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said the military push didn't succeed because U.S. troops remain committed there in large numbers and political reconciliation has not been achieved.
"The purpose of the surge was to bring violence in Iraq down so that its leaders could come together politically," said Biden, D-Del., in this week's Democratic radio address. "Violence has come down, but the Iraqis have not come together."
He later added, "There is little evidence the Iraqis will settle their differences peacefully any time soon."
Biden offered an early rebuttal to next week's testimony by Gen. David Petraeus, the top military commander in Iraq, and Ryan Crocker, the U.S. ambassador there. Petraeus and Crocker are expected to say the recent buildup in troops has succeeded in improving security. But they also likely will say that a period of assessment is needed this summer before officials can decide whether troop withdrawals can continue.

F#*&k Him
There ... fixed it.
How can anyone so stupid continue to be elected. Oh wait i know, by those who are more stupid than him.
LOL. How's the democrat party doing, Joe?
Dumbest man in the Senater.
By Biden’s measuring stick, the Dimocrats should have totally ended poverty and crime in the U. S. many years ago.
Sheesh, I wonder who Biden heard say what he’s quoted as saying here so he could “appropriate” their words?
Laying claim once again to the right to be called Slow Joe.
Newsflash: Biden proves himself as clueless as ever, still likes to hear himself talk.
Even Hillary!08 sees keeping 80,000 troops in the region forever or until nobody wants the oil anymore. O’Bama, bowling 37, would throw in the towel in the first round.
I think Deleware, New Jersey, Maryland and the Philadelphia SMSA should be combined into one state, and their allotted number of senators would then decrease to 2.
Hmmmmm ..?? I seem to recall somebody by the name of Limbaugh who predicted this very opinion from the libs.
The libs are never satisfied - no matter what you do they will find something else to complain about.
Just like hillary most democrats have become a joke. Who listens to anything they say anymore?
Hey joe.....pay attention.
The war is won. The political process is now free to sort its self out.
Life and history are not a football game. They are an ongoing process.
By your reasoning the USA is doomed because for the last two years the party running the hHouse and Senate have failed miserably to accomplish any thing.

Hey Joe.......those hair plugs look like a failure too!
Sen. Biden: Troop buildup is a failure
There. I fixed it.
It's like the short and nasty review of a new play. "This play is both good and original. The parts that are good aren't original, and the parts that are original aren't good."

Democratic Congress is a failure !
dumbest man in the us senate.
Hey Joe, when we look at YOU and the current donkey party, and consider how much influence a party of vicious depraved psychopathic JACKASSES exerts over our lives, we might easily conclude that the USA is a failure and did not work out. Might as well give it back to the British to rule, or the natives......

Jabberin' Joe.....

Jabberin' Joe.....
Just can't help it:
Dain-bramage....
Don'cha know.
Let’s see, American declaration of Independance was issued in 1776 and wasn’t it 1787 before it was a reality and our differences settled? So let’s see the war started in 2003 and it is now 5 years later. I’d say that they have about 6 years to go before buffoons like this get to complain.
Listening to rats talk about the war is a little like listening to a two year old say things like “cocky and poo poo.” It is cute for a while but it gets old quickly.
Sending Biden to Washington raises the average IQ in both Delaware and DC.
first class jerk. stupid, stupid man.
The Dems are being smart. They are laying he groundwork so that Gen Petraeus’ testimony next week in the Senate on the positive events in Iraq will not be believed. The Dems desperately do NOT want the American public to think that Bush is right and that we are winning in Iraq.
Exactly and they’re using their willing media partners to disperse the information.
Biden is lower than a piece of whale sh*t at the bottom of the ocean!
What an ass.
Biden’s hair plugs are a failure.
did comrade joe plagiarize that or think of it all by himself ?
Seems democrats can only look for failure. Failure in the God ordained climate, failure in protecting America, failure in understanding the real reason we went to war, failure to understand cutting taxes helps the economy, failure in understanding most countries use their lands to provide for their own energy needs - not to keep a large vast supply for a pristine site that no one ever sees.
Seems everytime I look at a democrat - I see total failure. Failure to be educated, failure to preserve the country, failure to trust its people.
Well, it is time Americans wised up to the media and its desire to give them only propaganda and lies.
Maybe that should be our main thrust in the coming democrat years. Reveal the truth of the media day in and day out until every idiot in the country understands they are being lied to by the mainstream media.
They have sure been successful in hindering our message - time to turn the tables on them.
Pull your head out of your rear end Biden... that will NEVER happen!

More of the infamous "prebuttal" nonsense?
OMG, they actually added that non-word as a CYA gesture to the Rat's!

The surge is yielding major changes in Iraqi political life. With security improving, local citizens have restarted the political process in neighborhoods, cities, and provinces. Grassroots movements have sprung up all around the country. These groups of citizens are determined to protect their communities, they are determined to fight extremism, and they increasingly participate in civic life.
* Today, some 90,000 Iraqis belong to local citizens group bearing the name "Sons of Iraq." The Iraqi Government has pledged to incorporate about 20 to 30 percent of these "Sons of Iraq" into the Iraqi army and police forces.
* Leaders in Baghdad are responding and the legislative achievements in Baghdad over the past four months have been remarkable.
* In December, the government enacted a pension law that will allow tens of thousands of Sunnis to collect the retirement benefits they were promised.
* In January, leaders enacted a de-Ba'athification law that allows mid-level Baath party members to re-enter political and civic life.
* In February, leaders enacted a budget that increases spending on security capital reconstruction projects and provincial governments.
* The same day in February, leaders enacted an amnesty law to resolves the status of many Iraqis held in Iraqi custody.
* Last week, leaders reached agreement on a provincial powers law that helps define Iraqi federalism, and sets the stage for provincial elections later this year. That is an important piece of legislation because it will give Iraqis who boycotted the last provincial elections such as Sunnis in Anbar or Ninewa provinces a chance to go to the polls and have a voice in their future.
All this from a government that is only TWO YEARS old!
What has the US CONgre$$ accomplished in the same time frame, JOE?
Biden - shut your pie hole - no one wants your idiotic opinion.
Comparing the Iraq Parliament’s batting average to the average for the Democrat controlled US Congress, Iraqi's record is a huge success story while the Democrat controlled US Congress controlled record is one of total, absolute, failure.
Hey “Lightweight”! Who are you Quoting without attribution, this time?
>>Why do the folks in Delaware keep voting this piece of trash into office.
Having lived in Delaware for 34 years (not by choice), I feel somewhat qualified to answer.
The reason is simple - Delaware has only one political party, the Democans or the Repubcats, not sure which.
Witness the debacle this year: Republicans will NOT field a candidate for Governor. This despite two announced candidates = but they don’t meet the party’s idea of what a candidate should do and say.
Or that most state races for House and Senate are decided at the primary, or worse, running unopposed.
“There is little evidence the Iraqis will settle their differences peacefully any time soon.”
The same could be said for the Democratic Party right now.
Please include NYC in that.
Him publicly threatening to shove his Rosary beads down someone's throat was the last straw for me. He should be excommunicated.
