Apr. 4 - Palestinian fishermen catch and kill a giant sea turtle, thought to be a Leatherback, an endangered species.

The rare giant sea turtle caught on a beach near Gaza City was slaughtered and eaten by Palestinian fishermen who said its blood was an aphrodisiac, among other therapeutic qualities. A Reuters cameraman said the fishermen collected the giant turtle's blood and gave it to children suffering from trauma and adults with back problems.

When I lived in Yemen many of local fisherman killed every sea turtle they found. The turtles ate the fish they wanted to catch.

I just had quite a bit of fun popping up on an environmentalist forum and posting on a thread about how child-bearing rights should be brokered and that global over-population had to be bested.

My suggestion? End welfare. :) And do away with those who are having 6 kids and getting paid for by the state, all the while not education their own children to be responsible adults. I also suggested that since the West wasn’t a problem here that they were being imperialists by attempting to force Africans and Asians to have fewer kids. Oh the mischief... !!! :)
