Will Barack Obama accept the endorsement of a woman who helped torture John McCain?

Will Barack Obama accept the endorsement of a woman who helped torture John McCain?

...AND THE FACT THAT I HAVE TO EVEN *ASK* THIS SHOULD FILL HIS SUPPORTERS WITH SHAME.

By Moe Lane Posted in Anti-war liberals

Note the use of the word "should."

Via Constant Reader fatimabrown we see this link of Jane Fonda announcing her support of Senator Barack Obama in the upcoming elections. Fonda, as all people know - and all decent people admit - is an actress who used her celebrity to first voluntarily engage in propaganda attacks by the North Vietnamese against the United States of America; and then, as Snopes put it:

To add insult to injury, when American POWs finally began to return home (some of them having been held captive for up to nine years) and describe the tortures they had endured at the hands of the North Vietnamese, Jane Fonda quickly told the country that they should

“not hail the POWs as heroes, because they are hypocrites and liars.” Fonda said the idea that the POWs she had met in Vietnam had been tortured was “laughable,” claiming:

“These were not men who had been tortured. These were not men who had been starved. These were not men who had been brainwashed.”

The POWs who said they had been tortured were “exaggerating, probably for their own self-interest,” she asserted.

She told audiences that “Never in the history of the United States have POWs come home looking like football players. These football players are no more heroes than Custer was. They’re military careerists and professional killers” who are “trying to make themselves look self-righteous, but they are war criminals according to law.”

I need hardly note that among these supposed "war criminals" was future Senator and Presidential candidate John McCain. Now, I will not bother with expecting... people... like Jane Fonda to regret*, or even comprehend, the evil that they did. But I very much would like to know whether Senator Obama has the integrity to reject the support of a woman who was as much a part of John McCain's torture as the men who smashed rifle butts into John McCain's teeth. I would like to know, but somehow, I doubt that I will. Well, formally, at least. Silence has its own message to convey.

Moe Lane

*And before you say a word: she "regrets" being photographed on that AA gun. Which means that the... woman... is only sorry that she got in trouble for it. She'll go to her grave before she admits that she was wrong.

I’m not Fonda Jane. But Osama Obama will take ANY endorsement, up to and including that of Satan.

Quislings seem to like him even better than Hillary Clinton.

Quislings embedded in the U.S. Government, especially the State Department, CIA and other career bureaucracies serving career politicians may be smart and even brilliant, just like their namesake Vidkun Quisling.

However, just like Quisling, their greatly overestimate their own importance and the admiration that they think their underlings have for them.

To some, they are mere opportunists. To most, they are mere tools to advance the careers of the next generation of opportunists.

If public service was really treated as an opportunity to serve rather than a lifetime entitlement to live as a member of the ruling class, then a plan such as this to give the public sector the same sense of shared fate as the private sector rather than to further empower a gated community in a parallel universe would be given serious consideration.

POW and radical protesting experiences aside, McCain and Fonda and Obama are on the same political track. It’s hard to imagine Mad Dog getting upset over any liberal, love fest. Seriously, we are talking about someone who was thinking about running as Kerry’s VP. Why should he care what Obama and Fonda do?

Why wait...let's do it while she's alive so she can enjoy the experience too...?

This pretty much locks in the Communist vote for Obama.

Jane was busy cavorting with the North Vietnamese Communists in Hanoi around the same time Obama was studying the koran with the mullahs in Indonesia.

How is Kerry different? I’m not condoning what Fonda did or what she has believed over the years and now, but how can McCain, a friend and political ally of Kerry, have anything critical to say about Fonda? What is it about this simple point that you find hard to understand?

Here's where we differ. You're willing to put those experiences "aside". I'm not.

I believe McCain is up against a hypocrisy problem if he tries to make political points off of Fonda’s endorsement of Obama. Again, McCain seriously considered being Kerry’s VP. Would that have been an endorsement of Kerry’s anti-war activities, and his betrayal of American soldiers? Look up comments McCain made about Kerry’s anti-war activities.

On the other hand, this is a good opportunity for conservatives to get a few kicks in on Fonda and Obama, as long as McCain stays out of it.

The problem is that McCain has set those differences aside to be a political ally of Kerry. You can stick to your principles, and say what you want, and I will agree with you, but McCain can’t take this road.

If you have the ability to lump John McCain with John Kerry on this issue, you have a better imagination than I.

Allegations of McCain seeking to run as Kerry’s VP are pure left wing BS.

McCain merely calls Kerry a friend out of Senatorial respect, which means jack shi-.

I am tired of those bashing McCain. Who among us, was a POW with McCain? I doubt any. If if one is here, they would not bad mouth him.

Yeah, your right. Since he was a POW, we should give him a pass on wanting amnesty, buying into the global warming fraud, the gang of 14, abolishing waterboarding, and McCain Feingold.

Do you really believe what you have written here? If so, you are going to be in for a big surprise, if McCain wins. ...I respect McCain for his service, and those who honor him, as we should, but that isn’t enough to make me turn my head to everything McCain has done since then.

No one is asking that. Again we are faced with choosing who is going to do less harm. I will take McCain over Obama or Hilliary anyday. It is that simple.

This is not like finding the right insurance policy for your house based on the lowest price and your FICO. It is about your country.

You either play the cards you are dealt or you fold in poker. That does not happen in war, as you have to play with the troops you have and the equipment you have- not what you wished you had!

What makes you think McCain will do less harm? Spend a few days actually researching the man and his past. Then ask yourself if he is less evil than Hillary.
