A pizza delivery driver who shot an alleged armed robber in Des Moines last week said he's receiving support from the community.
James Spiers III fired multiple shots at a man who allegedly put a gun to his head after Spiers delivered a pizza to an apartment complex.
The suspect, Kenneth Jimmerson, was arrested after he called for help.
Jimmerson, who suffered at least three gunshot wounds, is charged with first-degree robbery. His finance, Melanie Stout, who police believe called in the pizza order, is charged with conspiracy.
Spiers, who works for Pizza Hut, has a valid handgun permit. He was suspended because the company prohibits employees from carrying guns.
Spiers is not expected to be charged in the case. He said he doesn't know his status with the company.

Then dont count on eating pizza at all. Dominos also has a no weapon policy. No knives, no pepper spray, no guns, no ball bats. It’s immediate termination for anyone caught with anything that can be considered a weapon.
Shouldn't that read, "A pizza delivery driver who allegedly shot an alleged armed robber"?
His "finance"? My finance did that to me once........once!

(Dumbass statement in almost every article of this type.)
The question is, did the perp have a valid handgun permit?
A pizza delivery man who saved his own life (when seconds count and police are minutes away.)

Corporate losers. I haven’t had a nasty Pizza Hut or Inn pizza in over 15 years but now will quit the Dominoes.
It has more to do with the risk to the company if this happens. The perp will end up suing Pizza Hut, the driver, the gun manufaturer, and anyone else he can find.

And the case should be tossed.
Actually, if you think about it. With the supremes ruling in the offing, he should hold on, then sue for violating his constitutional rights.
I’ve thought the tort system needs to shift to a system similar to the grand jury system. If you want to sue the merits of your case have to be presented to private jury panel and they must return a decision on allowing your case to go forward or not. If you are denied you pay a fee and move on, if approved you file in court and move forward.
These frivolous suits must stop. Cases of mouth-breathing criminals suing people who defend themselves must be stopped.
Let’s see, pizza rut, dominos, miller, mcd. Not a problem to boycott any of these. i’m off to DU to see what they think. real hate site they have there.
A good, honest employer in Des Moines should already be hiring this guy for a job. Surely there is some company in that town needing a driver who won’t mind his conceal carry status.
The only way I’ll deliver pizza to dangerous neighborhoods is in this SUV, mounted with a gatlin gun:

Liberals/Marxists are filled with hate, hate for life, hate for capitalism , hate for sucess, hate for profits, just hate.
Dominoes pizza founder is pro-life Christian. I don’t have a problem with the chain.
Or look after his kid ?
My son just quit Pizza Hut. They don’t treat their employees very well. He knew several guys who were car jacked. He loves his job now. Serving process. LOL
But Dominos founder, Thomas Monaghan, has donated millions to pro-life charities.
One way to insure he didn't run out of drivers...and customers to rob/kill them, I guess.
Since the driver isn't being charged, there's no allegedly about it; he shot the guy.
The robber, who's been charged but not convicted yet, is the one who gets to have the word alleged used in his description.

If your favorite Food-Joint allows “Carry”, urge it to state THAT in their yellow page and other ads. Robert Heinlein and L.Neil Smith would approve!
It was just in the DM Reg that the delivery guy was fired by Pizza Hut today (4/18).
