Two Muslim clerics with outspoken backgrounds are among the speakers at St. Cloud State University's Islam Awareness Week, which starts today.
One of them is Siraj Wahhaj, who will speak on "What is Jihad?" at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Atwood Memorial Center Theatre.
Wahhaj, an American-born imam of a mosque in Brooklyn, N.Y., is on the executive committee of the Muslim Alliance in North America, a network of organizations addressing needs in American Muslim communities.
In 1991, speaking to an Islamic association of Texas, Wahhaj called Operation Desert Storm "one of the most diabolical plots ever in the annals of history," and that the war to oust Iraq from Kuwait was "part of a larger plan, to destroy the greatest challenge to the Western world, and that's Islam."
Wahhaj, while praised for combating drugs in New York and being the first Muslim to offer a prayer to open a session of Congress, has also appeared on a government list of unindicted co-conspirators in the 1993 World Trade Center bombings.
Another American-born Islamic cleric appearing at St. Cloud is Khalid Yasin. He will speak on "Islam: A Way of Life" at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Atwood Memorial Center Ballroom.

“Outspoken Imans”
Translation from PC Liberalese into English: “Al Queda agents of mass murder with whom we are allied, since they hate the freedoms of the USA as much as we do and are doing everything to destroy this country.”
Ping...
Sounds like sedition and treason to me. Arrest them, confine them to Gitmo and make them disappear forever.
Keep in mind that the muslim playbook, the quran, tells them that lying in the furtherance of the goals of islam is fully acceptable...
Take what they say with a grain of salt.
Islam has been at war with civilization for over 1400 years, and the war continues.
Let me see...
I’ll just bet that the Raggedy Andy will say: “Jihad is each raghead’s ‘inner-struggle’...”
I wonder how many fat wads they’ll be issuing.
IOW sign any treaty and then violate it a week later. As long as it's against infadels, no moral conduct whatsoever is even remotely expected. Lying is a tactic used in the glorious book.
I wonder if Keith (Hakeem) Ellison will be popping in for an appearance.....
The imam will explain how this is a good thing and people shouldn't be worried and packing heat all the time.
Are they going to be speaking in English on American soil?
But this is great! Send the cameras and get a few people to ask some intelligent questions. With any luck they will begin foaming at the mouth and spewing their vitriol, and the people of America and the civilized Western world will see them for what they really are: dangerous whackadoo members of a Death Cult.
My daughter has a part time job while at college in Minneapolis. The coffee shop she works in was audited by the franchaise home office. She was admonished for non compliance to the rule of writing the name of the beverage buyer on the cup. She tried to explain that doing so in a college community really pisses off more people than not. Writing Ahbunimadar, Xioau, Mufastbadeem, et,al on each cup does two things. First it brings things to a screaching halt having to ask each person how to spell their name. Second, when you butcher it you really piss them off. Especially when you’re a blonde female with hair down to your hips. The PC willingness in the twin cities is never ending. Right up to the point where you have to apologise for bleeding on the sidewalk after they stab you in the little somalia section for being female and alone at night.
What about Jewish, Christian, Buddhist, Hindu Awareness Week? Though Christianity is the majority faith in the U.S., it can no longer be assumed that most college students know the basic tenets of Christianity, particularly with so many foreign students. And for some who have grown up with godless parents, these ‘’educational” seminars are a God-hungry soul’s first encounter with religion. Universities can no longer be bothered to teach Latin or Greek or the Classics, but Islam and Arabic are taught as “contemporary studies.” Where is the ACLU??? What about the separation of church and state that they hold so dear??? This is nothing but a ruse to proselytize Islam to our young people.
I’ll be curious to see what sort of on-going media coverage this will get. If there is any opposition at these talks, I’ll wager that the media either will not cover it, or the promoters will quash any negative reports from the events.

Your money would be safe.
I forgot for a moment that the MSM over there is thoroughly corrupt and actively working toward the demise of Western Civilization as we know it. It used to be that we could rely on at least an impartial reporting of facts. Now it would seem that we can’t — more than that, we can rely on spin and falsehoods-created-to-be-news, and a media that no longer reports the news but fabricates it instead.
In which case it probably isn’t such a good idea for the Imams to speak. Silly me!
Sure hope the feds are there in a big bowl of alphabet soup. Tape is your best friend.
I’ll bet the feds are nowhere near St. Cloud this week.
Can anyone attend? Can women attend? Can jews and rabbi’s attend?
“Can anyone attend? Can women attend? Can jews and rabbis attend?”
Sure, up until the moment that one disagrees.
