There is nearly the same number of Protestant Christians, of all denominations and non-denominational, including all evangelicals, as there are Catholics. This is not quite right. It would be accurate to say that there are nearly as many non-Catholic Christians as there are Catholics. There are approximately 1.05 billion Catholics (mostly in the Latin Church, but some in Eastern Churches in communion with Rome). There are approximately 240 million Orthodox. If you total the various "other" Trinitarian Christian churches, including the African Initiated Churches, and call them all "Protestant," you come up with about 575 million. That gives you a total Christian population of 1.865 billion. You have to throw in JWs, Mormons, other Restorationists, etc., to get to 2 billion.

Will the MSM now consider Islam the biggest threat in the world now instead of Christians?Nope.

“This is about the lack of Catholics, not Christians. I wonder if the sex scandal caused this.”
The article clearly stated that Catholics had maintained their 17.4 percentage while Muslims grew to 19.2 percent — due to birth rates. The only sex scandal here begins with C and ends with N.

Yes! His name is Zakaria Botros (or sometimes spelled Boutrus or Boutros) and he is
awesome. Go to MEMRI TV and check out some of his video clips that are in English or subtitled in English. He drives the Islamonazi Imams psychotic because, as you said, they cannot refute him and he constantly shows Islam up for the stupid and illogical things within it, and he uses the Koran and the Hadiths to do it, too, so they cannot argue against him.
Their latest angle is to simply try to ignore him and when someone brings up his name, to call him crazy and try to change the subject.

Misleading in the sense that it's trying to imply that Islam has suddenly overtaken Christianity. It's only Catholicism, and with 1.3 to 1.6 billion Muslims in the world there have been more Muslims than Catholics for some time, this isn't news. The intent of the article is to imply that Islam has suddenly become the worlds biggest religion. It hasn't, not by a long shot. Christianity in total is by far the largest religion, with 33 to 36 percent of the world population designating themselves as Christian.
Christianity, both Catholic and Evangelical varieties, is exploding in growth in China, in India, and most of Sub-Saharan Africa (it's even spreading like crazy in North Africa now, such as in Algeria, where the government is now trying to close churches and crack down because it's freaking them out).

Christians need to start making more babies. Right now.
OK. I'll get to work on my sixth ASAP.
Heck, don't expect the commie-libs to do it.

Someone just posted the article, up above on the thread. Read it, it's great. There's lots more info coming out about this. Read the recent report from CBN, and read Joel C. Rosenberg's "Joshua Fund" report on the explosive growth of Christianity in the Muslim world, especially in Iran.
One Imam was interviewed on Al Jazeera and was beside himself, bemoaning the fact that 6 million Muslims a year were converting to Christianity. Nigeria, in particular, is seeing massive growth of evangelical Christianity.

Ten thousand Chinese become Christians each day, according to a stunning report by the National Catholic Reporters veteran correspondent John Allen, and 200 million Chinese may comprise the worlds largest concentration of Christians by mid-century, and the largest missionary force in history.
Just for your reference, John Allen is not a reliable source. He's a writer working for a paper (the National Catholic Reporter) that is more anti-Catholic than Catholic. His stories always put the Catholic Church in a bad light.
I don't know what his true motives are, but he's anything but a pro-Catholic reporter, or even an objective one.

Interesting. I didn’t read it that way and I didn’t think it was misleading. I read the title and then the article exactly how I thought it was meant to read, that the Vatican (Catholic) stated that Islam has overtaken Catholicism.
Maybe I just didn’t read into it.
