Yeah... I saw that, but remained unimpressed.
Lawyers have a need to “puff up”.....say things that perhaps makes only them feel better about their chances...
It gives me little comfort..
I’ll relax when this totally ridiculous and damaging scenario against our warriors - brought about by the insane and traitorous bellowing of a senile, corrupt and ignorant SOB and POS like Murtha —— IS OVER AND THE ONLY GUILTY AS CHARGED $%$#%$%&$#&$ IS MURTHA.

What you describe is called “dismissal without prejudice”.

Maybe Gen. Helland watched the Frontline documentary, "Haditha, Rules of Engagement", and bought himself a clue. More and more of the reporting has focussed on the rules of engagement aspect to the incident vs. it being some deliberate massacre as first reported. Sites like "Defend our Marines" have made a difference in providing the whole story.

Unless the prosecution has a big, hairy rabbit to pull out of their hats, no way will SSgt Wuterich be convicted of any serious offense.Maybe Lil' Kim can help them?

Thank you for the diagram.
As one who walked “point” for the Fifth Marines in Nam in 1969 & 1970; I can say that I “cleared out” more huts than I care to remember and that as the aerial video documented, the Marines received fire from the location and they were certainly justified to assume that there were “bad guys” in there. And I still believe that any unarmed Iraqis were killed by crossfire and/or by the "bad guys" before they "bugged out." I don't believe for a second that any Marine went in there and committed coldblooded murder. It's just not in our DNA.

Can’t find a thing to disagree with in your post, except I’d like the pole to be a little shorter so we can spit in his face. Then, we can post a sign at Jane Fonda’s plot with the directions to murtha’s.
Putting all Marines at risk- not to mention what he’s done to these Marines- and all the families merits a short stick.

Winter was particularly critical of the three senior Marines apparent reluctance to respond to multiple requests by Time magazine to reveal what happened at Haditha. Even when made aware of the serious allegations raised by the Time magazine journalist, your response to higher headquarters was to forward incomplete, inaccurate, and inconsistent materials provided by a subordinate unit, rather than to initiate a thorough inquiry into the incident, Winter rebuked Col. Davis.Winter is such a pathetic moron it's scary. Nice appointment, Dubya. What an outstanding Commander-in-Chief you are.

This case will not permit a lynching.. Tell Evan Vela that.
I am hoping, praying that you are right. More so now than ever after what they did to Vela.
Oh, and hey, I have this rail already reserved. It will work well for your proposal after we have taken Murtha for his ride...

"Haditha, in my judgement, is a metaphor for how the press unconciously, being in opposition to the war, will take an incident, and simply by reiterating and reiterating it and reiterating it, build it into something it wasn't."

(shaking my head)..... so the guy got his 4th star by sacrificing his Marine in order for the PC congressional committee to recommend the promotion. That just doesn't sound like something Mattis would do.It's something he did.

Will we see SSgt Wuterich's case also dismissed? It sure looks that way now. We have several high-ranking Marine officers, and a couple of company grade officers, whose careers are over or are in question. In my opinion that is what the proscecution was after all along -- the scalps of some combat officers. If you recall this was the major complaint arising from the Abu Grahib scandal -- that only low-level enlisted got the chop (though how they can overlook the General getting the boot is beyond me).
There was an article posted yesterday about a civilian group within the Pentagon that has been 'pushing' prosecutions for War Crimes. That is how weak cases get brought and innocent people get put through the legal meat-grinder.

I say that — because THIS case had Murtha running his lying mouth on television...
Murtha’s charges, lies and obnoxious treachery and bullsquat - ASSURED the public would be aware of and watch this case with a magnifying glass to PREVENT a political lynching.
There was no equal public outrage or publicity over the Evan Vela case.
Secondary to that - but a reality - this case involved Marines..
We are a very small but devoted brotherhood.....and to have Murtha slander “his own” in this manner, raised a lot of blood lust.

A buddy sent me a photo of a sign that was on the wall of his base back in the '80s. Basically, the ten rules were devised in WWII and passed down ever since.
Nothing here about checking for civilians. As you well know, the point was to clear the structure and get yourself and your men out alive.
