One in 10 voters believes Barack Obama is Muslim, a mistaken impression that lingers across party lines, a poll showed Wednesday.
Fourteen percent of Republicans, 10 percent of Democrats and 8 percent of independents mistakenly think he is Muslim, according to a survey by the nonpartisan Pew Research Center. Just over half of each group correctly identified him as Christian, while about a third said they don't know his religion.
The false rumor that the Democratic presidential candidate and Illinois senator is Muslim has been fanned on the Internet and conservative talk radio.
It has persisted despite the recent controversy over divisive remarks by his longtime pastor at the Trinity United Church of Christ, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Those saying they have heard a lot about Wright's comments are about as likely as others to say they think Obama is Muslim, the poll showed.
Conservatives, less educated voters and white evangelical Protestants are likelier to believe Obama is Muslim, as are people from the South, the Midwest and rural areas, the poll showed. Nearly a quarter of white Democrats with unfavorable views of Obama say he is Muslim though overall, blacks are about as likely as whites to hold the misconception.

If B. Hussein Obama really is a Christian than he would be regarded as an apostate under the Muslim religion and would be put to death if practible. Are there any exceptions to the Muslim apostate rule? I don't know of any. Ibn Warriq (a pseudonym) has to continually watch his back as he is regarded as an apostate.
Well in Indonesia where he grew up, the law says if your father is Mulsim then so are you.

Obama most recently declared that “I have NEVER been a Muslim.” That is a flat out lie. He was born to a Muslim father, had a Muslim stepfather, attended school in Indonesia registered as a Muslim, and attended a mosque there as well.
The fact that he refuses to say “I was born and spent my childhood as a Muslim but then repudiated Islam and became a convert to Christianity” is a pretty strong indication that he is continuing to lie.
The fact that his Muslim relatives and connections in Kenya welcomed him, and dressed him in Muslim garb, and the fact that Muslim groups in America strongly support him, suggest that they know something that AP refuses to admit—that he is still a Muslim, and that he has assured them he is not apostate.
Do we know this for sure? Perhaps not. But we also don’t know for sure that he is NOT a Muslim, since he has proven himself to be a serial liar on this and other matters of importance.
I would rather he lose the election because he is to the left of Marx.

I don’t know what Obama is, but I don’t think he is a Christian. His pastor obviously believes in black liberation theology, which is not Christian. It looks to man and government for salvation.

I am not quite so sure that the one in ten are wrong. Considering the particular version of Christianity that he adheres to it is not impossible that he has never shed Islam.
Unsurprisingly the San Francisco Chronicle got his religion wrong as well.
It doesn't take much listening to Wright's sermons to realize that isn't a Christian church, despite them calling themselves one.
The 1/3 that answered that they didn't know what his religion was were far more correct than the ones that called him a Christian.
Maybe it’s the Barack Hussein part that throws people off. Of course us “conservative, uneducated , evangelical Christians” can barely wipe our collective asses anyhow.

. There is credible info that could lead one to believe that his Indonesian stepfather to him to Mosque with the intent of making him Muslim. His own campaign said in a LA Time article that he was never a REGULARLY practicing Muslim, leading one to infer that he was an IRREGULARLY practicing Muslim. That is enough for the Muzzies to convict him as an apostate or to accept him as one of the faithful deceiving the dhimmis. Check the years 1971-1973 at the link below.
