The best quote is near the end of the article:

"We essentially have two realities when it comes to guns in this country," [Obama] said during the debate. "You've got the tradition of lawful gun ownership... and then you've got the reality of 34 Chicago public school students who get shot down on the streets of Chicago."

The jackass doesn't realize that maybe if they did actually have "the tradition of lawful gun ownership" in Chicago, they wouldn't have so many of their students getting "shot down on the streets."

The crime 'bubble' would pop and people would be free from a drag on their lives which might cultivate a desire to throw off similar yokes, put in place to....well, fight crime.

Two hundred years later and we still have a significant number who refuse the wisdom of the founders, yet, haven't the balls to ammend their work. "Go ahead, improve on the Mona Lisa". "No spray-paint!"

Wow. On both counts.

Don't think Hillary was being kind to gun owners. She doesn't want to wait for a disaster, she wants to be able to grab the moment her hand comes off the Bible on Jan 20th.

After the shootings at Virginia Tech, he expressed deep sympathy for the victims, but, according to published reports, said he believes in "no gun control."

You know, I was very impressed by that move. The gunsmoke had barely cleared from the campus before McCain had issued a statement giving unwavering support to the 2nd Amendment. That took guts because he could have looked at the entire issue and scored political points all the way around with a less definitive statement.

Thanks for the timely solace/support. I was trying to convince stockpirate on another thread that either Trotsky or Stalin would be worse than McRINO.
