A young convict and alleged gang member had been released from jail a little more than a day before he shot and killed Los Angeles High School football star Jamiel Shaw Jr., LAPD Chief William J. Bratton said Tuesday.
On the same day mourners attended the 17-year-old's funeral in the Crenshaw district, authorities announced that the alleged gunman, Pedro Espinoza, 19, had been formally charged with Shaw's death. Espinoza, according to officials, is a member of the 18th Street gang and had spent nearly four months in a Los Angeles County jail for exhibiting a firearm and resisting arrest before he was released March 1, 28 hours before Shaw's death.
"It was spontaneous," Bratton said of the killing. "He was a gang member. He saw someone else he thought was from an opposing gang and he immediately, almost intuitively, popped out of that car and shot that young boy twice.
"He assassinated him just on the belief the other individual may have been a gang member. That is what we are up against in this city, sociopaths like that who just got out of jail and within a day had a gun and in an instant took that young boy's life."
The charge of murder with special circumstance enhancements could carry the death penalty.

To LA people ‘in-the-know’, this murder is only the next citizen killed in LA by illegal gang members. A small child in LA area called Harbor Gateway was shot while waiting at school bus stop by a similar illegal suspect. It’s happening all over LA and the liberal media is not mentioning the illegal alien element and won’t connect the killing ‘dots’ on this rising ‘illegal on black’ murders.
Look up Ted Hayes, LA activists who is trying to bring this to the citizenry with little support. Save Our State ORG picketed the mayor’s official mansion, in the upscape Wilshire community last Feb. 07 about Toilet Tony Villalarza’s sanctuary city idea reinforced by LAPD’s Bratton’s idiotic “Special Order 40” with absolutely NO media coverage of that event or topic!!! LAPD officers have been killed by illegal gangs in last weeks and the LAPD police union picked the city council meeting and city hall frnt steps and made a big stink. I didn’t see this official support for civilian deaths like the HS football player or elementary school girl.
50%+ gang members are illegal aliens. 35% of prisons are full of illegals that convicted a crime. Federal prisons have 25% of illegal criminals. DEPORT ALL NOW! It’s sad to know this and see that & more killing are to come due to no public or city action taken.

An alleged gang member accused of killing a 17-year-old high school student just one day after being released from jail has been living in the country illegally, possibly for more than a decade, federal immigration authorities said Saturday.
The Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency has filed paperwork naming 19-year-old Pedro Espinoza, the suspect in the March 2 killing of Los Angeles High School football star Jamiel Shaw Jr., as a potential candidate for deportation.
Virginia Kice, a spokeswoman for the immigration agency, said an immigration hold was issued for Espinoza on March 13, nearly a week after he was arrested in connection with Shaw’s death.
No such hold was placed on Espinoza on March 1, the day he was released from a Los Angeles County jail after serving roughly four months for exhibiting a firearm and resisting arrest, said Sheriff’s Department spokesman Steve Whitmore.
“We are going to follow up to determine whether or not we have had prior interactions with this individual,” Kice said.
I was encouraged to see the recent passage of laws in Arizona and Oklahoma that strongly penalized businesses for hiring aliens. It is amazing how the aliens have fled those states when unfavorable laws are enforced. I saw sheriff Joe on Glen Beck tonight and he was his usual self in responding to the condemnation he received for locking up 24 illegals on good Friday.
But, this is where we are and none of the three presidential candidate really are intent in addressing the situation. And, democratic run cities typically are those currently granting sanctuary city status, absent Rudy....

Exactly. Eisenhower deported large numbers of illegals. It can be done relatively easily through direct and indirect means. For a starter cut of all perks and social services. Protect the borders. Punish harshest those who have been here for long period of time. Fine and jail those who knowingly hire illegals.
They use this Special Order 40 to protect the Invaders. They tell Americans that the Invaders won’t call the police for fear of being deported when in fact they won’t call the police because they fear the gangs more than they do the police. Even the known gang members are protected from Special Order 40.
