I have chronic hypertension. Beta blockers do a fair job of keeping it down, but I wouldn’t mind getting a vaccination every seventeen weeks, if it would help stabilize things.

Don’t forget, though, the law of unintended consequences. You don’t know what kind of havoc something like those could wreak with your immune system.

I take potassium, but sugar in fruit or any other means is a no no. I’ll have to try the olive leaf extract.

If you want to lower your blood pressure stop listening to the news. The MSM and their liberal BS is enough to kill us all.

Can you provide a link with more information on that?
Much appreciated.

Is the avoidance of fruit sugar because of diabetes?

Not to mention going on a “Zone” like diet. My mother had hypertension for years, and finally stumbled upon a doctor that told her to cut out white flour, increase lean proteins and veggie intake. She is now considered in the normal range.
I didn’t know that about Olive Leaf Extract for hypertension. I take it for colds and sinus infections and such. It works wonders for that!

Oh great. Something else for the government to advise us, mandate for us, er.... blackmail us with.

mr. mm went on a low sodium diet for his kidney stones and his blood pressure dropped right to normal. Potassium helps with sodium regulation.

My doctor has learned not to even mention a new drug to me. Unless I can be shown the double blind study showing it to be both safe and effective, he knows it is not going in me. Why would I want to be part of the test?

I have been sending Pressur-Lo tabs that are based on Hawthorn berries with lots of other stuff in it to two nuns in Viet Nam who have hypertension, one pretty severely. Both have good results from it. The severe one has added a Zona Plus device, which I also sent, to the pills. In a couple of weeks I will find out how well that works.

G'Morning all ...
Sorry for the delay in answering, a typical Monday with everything going insane (typical for me, lol), first I have a couple of links the first one is:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12489249
and there is also:
http://www.mskcc.org/mskcc/html/69315.cfm
and there is:
http://www.newswithviews.com/Howenstine/james6.htm
Just to name three. Google will provide you plenty of material if you want to read extensively on it.
I started taking Olive Leaf Extract for a severe sinus infection years and years ago, and after having gone the antihistamine, nasal sprays, decongestant route with little or no relief, the O.L.E. cleaned my sinus out inside of 30 days and I breathe freely without complications today. I find also, that if I feel a cold coming on, if I load up on O.L.E., Vitamin C, Vitamin E + L-Lysine, that if the cold does get a grip on me, it doesn't last too long.
I get Olive Leaf Extract in the supplement section of my local grocery store and most health food shops carry it, some brands are a bit high-priced but I wouldn't pay more than $10 to $12 a bottle (500 mg per capsule, 90 per bottle).
What surprised me (after my sinus got cleaned up) was that my blood pressure was substantially lower, earlier in that year (2001), my BP was running roughly 140 over 95 or so, now it is consistently 130 over 80, or in that neighborhood.
I also cut way down on salt and sodium in my diet.
DCPatriot? You ought to be able to find O.L.E. in any Super Giant grocery store, I would be surprised if they didn't carry it.
As for dosing, I don't think you can go too wrong with 500 mg 3 times a day (empty stomach, before meals is how I took it), and you may notice that you actually feel worse before you feel better, as O.L.E. is a pretty powerful substance, it flushes all sorts of toxins and bad stuff out of your system, and what you may feel is what is called the 'Dieoff effect' (no you're not gonna die! lol) ... it's just that when your body is first being cleaned up by the O.L.E., there may be a lot of toxins and not-so-healthy things flowing out of your system, but you should also experience a noticable increase in energy too, as you just feel better without all that other crap hanging around in your body.
Damn, I ought to be selling this stuff! LOL
Hope this is useful, have a great day and week!
Best,
MKJ ;)

Yes. About eight years ago I had a colon resection, and while in the hospital the doctors put me on insulin, and told me I would have to stay on it. Well, I ruptured, ended up staying in the hospital for 30 days without eating, and miracle of miracles, my blood sugar went down to normal. I eventually modified my diet to the point that I am off all blood sugar medications, and my doctor tells me I am no longer diabetic.
