The new pastor at Barack Obama's church says his predecessor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, was in a sense crucified just like Jesus Christ at the hands of the Romans. According to Fox News, Rev. Otis Moss III titled his Easter sunrise sermon "How to Handle a Public Lynching," focusing mainly on the media firestorm over the Chicago church attended by the Democratic presidential candidate. Moss reportedly did not specify Wright by name, but told the congregation at Trinity United Church of Christ that Wright, who has delivered sermons in which he likened the U.S. to the Ku Klux Klan and saying it is damned for its state-sponsored terrorism, is facing the same challenges Jesus did.

It’s strange when someone’s words are just brought up for discussion (public words by the way); it’s a lynching.
Also, unlike Jesus, Wright isn’t Jewish. Interesting that a man, Wright, who spews venom against Jews forgets that the Saviour was Jewish.
Since the new minister has the same ideology as the old minister (Wright), we can all safely assume that Wright wasn’t some kind of quirk. This garbage is truly what this church believes deep down, and it’s not going to change. Obama has no defense.
Just cannot attack this man, this day of all days. I just pray that he pursues his mission with humility and wisdom, that he can teach Christ as a loving and forgiving path to harmony.
I cringe when any man compares himself or anyone else to Christ.

Then, it gets really good. Fitz is in on it too. The Rezko thingy is being prosecuted by Fitzgerald (The same guy who wouldn’t indict Rove for leaking the name of a spy), so 3 weeks out from the election, Fitz indicts Bambi, McCain and the eeeevil war machine reign, and the dastardly plot to keep Hillary down is complete.
No one should start a ministry with lynching, no one should end their ministry with lynching. The lynching was national news. The RNN, the Roman News Network, was reporting it and NPR, National Publican Radio had it on the radio. The Jerusalem Post and the Palestine Times all wanted exclusives, they searched out the young ministers, showed up unannounced at their houses, tried to talk with their families, called up their friends, wanted to get a quote on how do you feel about the lynching?

This Minister is practicing his Black Liberation Theology which is just now getting some publicity that will educate many of us about the nature of race relations in this country. It is a most ugly concept of religious belief.
he has been “retiring” since last year, apparently as phased withdrawal from the various ministries of the church. The new guy’s been preaching the Sunday sermons since last fall, as far as I can tell.
What BS. He's still smiling and making more money than ever before.

Good gosh. What would have been the title if the races were reversed, but the message was as hateful and stupid?

Then Jeremiah Wright should not have anything to worry about, he will rise from the dead.
Too bad he is being persecuted for his racism and hate. He would be much better off sticking to the gospel and being persecuted for Christ. Like it is, his persecution counts for nothing, just like his liberation theology stands for nothing good. The right Rev Wright was temped into political and social activism by his own lust for power and status, and he distorted the gospel to promote his activist doctrine. If the congregation he has mislead uses this occasion to make a martyr out of him, they’ll cheat themselves out this opportunity to free themselves from his racist nonsense. It’s a shame. Christians make their culture better by following Christ.

Hopefully the eyes of some are now opened to the spewing of hatred that has come out of this supposed “church” and it can be dealt with.
One thing I haven’t seen out of this is ... Where does the United Church of Christ stand on this? Is the “Reverend” Wright their standard bearer? How does Black Liberation Theology fit into the “UNITED” portion of the UCC?

I didn't realize Pastor Wright was bearing the punishment for my sin! Nor that he was being flogged and hung on a cross to asphyxiate. Not metaphorically. Really. He must be quite a guy.
I really don't like it when folks trivialize what Jesus did by comparing their own little trials to taking the entire punishment for the sins of billions on His shoulders.
I'm thinking the Pastor doesn't really understand the heart of the Gospel if he is willing to make statements like those in the article.
Most Black pastors in Wright’s generation never went to divinity or college. They were “called” the ministry. Ie, they’re good speakers and emotional folks are willing to give them money. No, he doesn’t know the Bible. He’s had a biblical indoctrination, but not an education.
