SANDERSON, Florida Deputies in Baker County arrested a couple caught having sex in a church. Baker County Sheriff's Deputies say they received a call about a suspicious person outside the Mount Zion Primitive Baptist Church, on the night of March 11th.
Deputies say they found a red Toyota pick-up truck and went inside the church.
"Her drawers [were] in the stands. Her brazier was over on the outside the stands," Deacon Lonzie Altman recalled from his conversation with deputies.
According to the offense report, deputies found Crystal Rowland, 24, behind the altar.
Rowland was taken into custody. She told deputies that Matthew Pearce, 28, was still inside.
Deputies found him underneath the church, partially dressed.
Red tea candles were also collected from the church. Deputies say there was splattered red wax all over the altar.
"I don't know what has become of the people [that] somebody would just do something like that in a church," said Altman.
Altman has been the deacon of the church for more than 40 years.
"I was shocked," he added.
When asked why they decided to have sex inside the church, police say Rowland told them she wanted a spiritual and sexual experience.
Altman says he won't judge the pair. He'll leave that to someone else.
"Don't think that the lord ain't got something for them," said Altman.
Rowland and Pearce each face charges of criminal mischief and burglary.
Pearce is also a registered sex offender. In 2002, he was convicted of a lewd act against a child under the age of 15.
He's being held on $10,000 bond. Rowland is being held on $20,000 bond.

Apparently, a Toyota pick up truck is too small for their needs. About now, he’s wishing he’d just traded it for a Lincoln instead.
And if he didn’t want to trade it in, has he never heard of RENTING?

Merely a couple of future candidates for the Democrat party.
These folks have the Democrat values system down pat.
This guy being a sex offender needs to be neutered and she needs to be spade just in case she were to get pregnant and push out into the world another worthless Democrat to be.
These low life human garbage are what those good folks in Oklahoma call White Trash.

Unless I've missed something in the latest Obama/Wright fiasco, I see no correlation between these people having sex in a church, and Rev. Wright.
Though I emphatically disagree with Wright on what I've heard of him, I don't know what his message of Christ and salvation and the church are.
These people did this to desicrate God. I don't know of stories of Wright doing this in the church. Or of him in open blasphemy of God, or calling others to openly desicrate God.
Unless you have proof that Wright engaged in, or condones this behavior, I find comments like this in extremely poor taste, and should be left over at DU.

I recall the case of the couple that were caught having sex in St Patrick's (It was a Sam Adams radio publicity stunt. They were arrested, weird thing about it though, the day the guy was suppose to go to court to get sentenced, he died.
The man and woman who allegedly had sex in the landmark church were also charged. Before he was to appear in court last month, Brian Florence, 38, died at his home in Alexandria, Va

In some parts of Florida, old wooden structures were constructed with a crawlspace between the floor and the soil. This allowed airflow beneath the structure and helped keep down moisture from the earth from collecting in the buildings wood and living space. Dosen’t eliminate problems, but keeps the mold and mildew growth down. Old “cracker” buildings also had high ceilings, floor to ceiling windows and high peaked sheet metal roofs. High ceilings let the heat rise away from occupants, windows that opened high would help vent the space.
The sheet metal roof might seem an “unintelligent” choice, but in fact was a genius of design and function. During the heat of the day, the metal roof acts like a solar collector and becomes really hot. This extra heat causes an increased airflow above and beneath the metal and creates almost a breeze along the roof from the bottom to the top, again helping to ventilate the structure.
Pretty smart engineering for “dumb southern crackers”. They knew how to LIVE in the south.

Pretty smart engineering for dumb southern crackers. And the folks in the Keys used those metal roofs to collect plentiful rainwater into cisterns and survived nicely while surrounded by saltwater. I have to laugh anytime my neighbor says anything about "hillbillies." He was born in LA and really couldn't pour piss out of a boot if ya printed the directions on the heel.

My guess is that he didn’t know the proper spelling of brassiere, and the spell check changed it to brazier.
If I had discovered them, I would have just told them to leave and never come back-or else. It’s not worth gumming up the justice system and giving them free room and board at taxpayer expense.
Let The Lord deal with them. I guess they didn’t get past the “be fruitful and multiply” verse in their Old Testament Bible studies.

My guess is that the journalist heard the deacon use the word “brassiere”, not knowing how to spell it properly he transcribed it as “brazeer” and the autospellcheck he ran his article through yielded “brazier.”

Well, I'm old school, and in my time, kids were taught how to use spell check properly. We even had spell-checking bees, and I once came in first place, beating seven home-schoolers hands-down.
