We saw The Octopus cruise into Kona Harbor in Hawaii a few weeks ago.
Very impressive. We watched it sidle up to Allen's estate on land.

Now I see where all my gas money went.
The biggest yacht in the world owned by non head of state is the Al Salamah, owned by a prince of Saudi Arabia, pictured here.

Thanks for the pic. I once saw a "camo" looking spar-like thing, which I thought was moving slowly, but it sunk away or otherwise disappeared, before I could get close enough to take a better look. I do recall that it was in moderate seas (9-12 ft. probably at 12-14 seconds, sorta 'close' but not too bad) and due to the swells, I couln't get much more than brief glimpses of it, due to the angle of my perspective in relation to the object, and the periodically obscuring mixed waves & swells running by...
At the time, I'd almost talked myself into "the navy wouldn't choose that pattern", since I never saw any like that when I was enlisted, but now I know better. I guess it was one of ours. It's been so long since the occurance though, I don't remember where exactly offshore California I saw it.

Now put a couple of those Toshiba Micro-nuke power plants in there, and you could live at sea forever.

Armaments look so out of place on luxury yacht.
Quad .50 and 5in guns are so hard disguise, and really just do nothing for the overall look.
LOL

The money is the only reason I stay in Kalifornia. Once retired I’m gone.

The “Inland Empire” is what I understand it’s called today. When I lived there (1964-74) it was the dairy capitol of Southern California and just starting to grow as we left. I will inherit land in Lucerne, ever do anything there?
