America is Not a Muslim country, it’s a Judeo-Christian country and public prayers shoud be either Jewish or Christian. If the Islamo-Fascists have their way and turn America into an Islamic Republic, then prayers to Mohammed or Allah will be ok.
“Who cares what OConnor says?”
The problem is that O’Conner is on an appeals court panel.
Then what’s the use of praying? Only God, through Jesus and in His Name, answers or hears those prayers anyway. How dumb are folks anyway?
See we are Americans and God owes us a listen whether we reject His only begotten Son who sacrificed Himself for our transgressions or not. It’s in the Bill of Rights, isn’t it? I mean, God has read our Bill of Rights, hasn’t he? /sarcasm
Whenever I see the name “Sandra Day O’Connor”, I still think of Ronald Reagan. But I usually don’t read past where it says “Sandra Day O’Connor”. Reagan should have apologized for that nomination but never did.
To be fair, O’Connor wasn’t nearly as liberal in her early years. She started off as a moderate/conservative, then became a moderate after Reagan and then during the last few years of her term became a moderate/liberal.
By the way, McCain said he would appoint justices like “O’Connor.”
It’s also reasonable that W. handed her her walking papers when she tried to renig on her resignation. She was shown the door none too soon.
Since Supreme Court related, is it too late for W. to get another justice even if one leaves soon? Would the dims hold up a nomination at this early date? Could they?
Why, why, of course! We’re the chosen people, right?
That's not the only thing Reagan should have apologized for.
Thank Jesus for that.
Thank you, Sandra, for retiring.
But the present situation is very scary. We are almost certain to get three more loons on the court, no matter which of those three crumbs is elected. Alito and Roberts will be in the minority for decades, unless we get some sort of miracle.
It's also a separation of powers issue. How can any Court tell a legislature how it will conduct its debate. The establishment clause says "Congress shall PASS NO LAW.......". Thus, at best the judiciary can adjudicate the constitutionally of a law passed by the legislature. Nowhere does a any judge have any right to tell the legislature how to conduct its debate. If the majority of the legislators feel a prayer to Jesus assists in legislative deliberations they have that power. The remedy for any offended is the ballot box.
The answers to your questions are YES and YES.
I could care less ~ and the point you are trying to make is?
Gee, that’s too bad. I was hoping she was totally irrelevant at this point.
