WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democrat Hillary Clinton charged on Monday the Iraq war may cost Americans $1 trillion and add strain to the sagging U.S. economy as she made her case for a prompt U.S. troop pullout from a war "we cannot win."
(Excerpt) Read more at reuters.com ...
She should have advised Bill for a “prompt pullout” to avert a war......
Bill ‘s not good at prompt pull-outs.
yep, spitter lewinsky proved that.
Herself is an expert on military and foreign policy matters.
I know people have some issues with McCain (as do I - and I respect their opinions) but the little we know about Obama and the lot we know Clinton should make it easier to vote for Sen McCain.
Is this a sign she’s looking at Fallon for VP?
Hey, if we’re going to let leftists drag us down, they might as well drag us down all the way.
Is this where she claims she was “duped” by Bush into voting for the Iraq war...all the while we have her leftist supporters calling Bush an idiot.
Ok Hil, so basically you were duped by an idiot?
Too Late Hillary, the Koznuts and DUmmies already think you are way too hawkish!
We have already WON the war in Iraq. The leader of the country was captured/tried/executed. The US is now helping with the rebuilding of the country. Is Hillary saying that Iraq cannot be rebuilt?
hey Hil hows bosnia working out for ya?
That could be setting up a November theme for the Dems:
5 years and $1 Trillion in Iraq, for what?
What we are doing now is reconstruction. One can argue that that job should be left to Arab League peacekeeping forces, but one cannot honestly argue that we are currently engaged in some sort of war that is unwinnable.
Yet we NEVER hear from the MSM that she has NEVER served in any capacity in our military.
If I remember correctly, the last election was all about it. PATHETIC!!
Can America afford to willingly lose a war that surrenders the military control of the Persian Gulf region that contains 70% of the World's known oil reserves to Iranian Islamist religious nutjobs who are actively seeking nuclear weapons and the ICBM's to deliver them to U.S. soil and who believe that the suicide-martyr destruction of a few million Americans will get them an Eternity in Paradise?
No.
A year and a half ago, Hillary claimed that the Surge that McCain was vigorously advocating would not work.
She was wrong then and she is wrong now.
Clinton is the Homer Simpson of democrat politics..
His luck is only surpassed by his screw-ups
Leave it to Hillary and the Democrats to appeal to American selfishness in the face of war. In the old days political leaders helped rally the country for mutual sacrifice against a common enemy. Now, in true form, Hillary is appealing to the liberal gimme, handout crowd and in effect saying, “If we spend all this money on the war there won’t be enough for me to hand out to you and our economy will suffer.
Just the ideal candidate for CIC. A traitor.
But we can certainly lose the war, and that would be an utter disaster.
Yep, she is so politically suave.
Without overwhelming force it will depends upon what winning is, is.
The liberals’ War On Poverty has been going on ten times as long and cost ten times as much and they want to keep fighting that one.
Ah ain’t no ways tired!
Saddam is still in power?
This is 2008 not 1993,the chick needs to be committed and confined in a straight jacket pronto.
Dear Shrillary, it’s too late for your flip-flops, you are a pathetic weasel like virtually all of your fellow Demagogues.
Now that you and Obama Hussein are in a race to the bottom for Demagogue votes, you will look ever weaker and more aligned with our enemies. Good job, Hildebeast.
_____
So that this does not happen again?
We won the Iraqi - American War in 2003.
Hillary is now busy fighting the Left Wing Democrat -American War.
That is a war that America cannot afford to lose.
Excellent point.
OTOH, it is certainly possible for us to lose -- and that would be a very bad thing.
The D's are so focused on using issues like Iraq to tear down their political opponents, that they have completely failed to consider the likely consequences of their proposed policies. Pretty sad commentary.
We can win this war but the goody two shoes need to let our people in uniform fight the war and recall JAG. After WWI and WWII do people really think we can’t win against these sand rats. Viet Nam should show us what happens when politicians get involved.
“The UnAmerican Democrat Party agitating for more terrorist bombs in Iraq.”
AND thanks to these traitors, that’s exactly what’s going to happen.
We’ve WON THE WAR, it’s the stability of Iraq that we’re working on NOW. Gads these democRATS do not know history. It took us 10 years AFTER WWII to get rid of the werewolves, in Germany, who were stirring up trouble, just as alquaida is today. Even 20 years after WWII, we were finding a few Japanese soldiers who were didn’t know the war was over, on some of the So Pacific islands.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
I think he is, that is how he made a deposit on the Blue Dress.
If Hillary wants to surrender a war she should try the “war on poverty”. It is costing more then the War on Terror will ever cost.
The only reason the US hasn’t wiped the floor with Iraq is BECAUSE of people like Hillary Clinton. Fighting that war with one hand tied behind your back was always going to be difficult. THIS PERSON HATES HER OWN COUNTRY. YET SOMEHOW IS RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT? Someone want to explain that logic to me?
Neither has her husband who led us into Bosnia some years ago, when he began that conflict. We were told our troops would be there a year........How many are still there, HUH, hillary?
I wonder where she gets all that foreign policy experience to come to this conclusion.
I wonder how many National Security briefings she attended, and with what security clearance.
I wonder how she helped with difficult decisions like withdrawing troops from Somalia after the Battle of Mogadishu, or the decision when Sudan offered to hand over Bin Laden, or the decision to launch a handful of cruise missiles into Sudan and Afghanistan as a response to the bombing of two American embassies.
I wonder what she contributed to the response to incidents of terrorism such as Oklahoma City, the first World Trade Center attack, the Khobar Towers bombing, the Al Qaeda bombing of US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, the Al Qaeda attack on the USS Cole, or the Atlanta olympics.
I wonder what the decision to withdraw from Somalia taught her about the wisdom of retreating in the face of an enemy that the US has pubically committed itself to defeat and an ally that the US has publically committed itself to support?
Or what the cruise missile attacks in response to the 1998 Al Qaeda embassy bombings teach her about the effective use of military force?
What war??? You can't really even call this a "war" anymore. This is the recovery phase. The reconstruction era.
This stopped looking like a war several months ago.
Shut up, Hillary.
Careful. Talk like that will get ol' "maverick" McCain to throw you under his Doubletalk Express bus. After all, according to ol' Juan McAmensty himself, Hillary "would make a fine president."
“Democrat Hillary Clinton charged on Monday the Iraq war may cost Americans $1 trillion and add strain to the sagging U.S. economy......”
Really?....and how much strain will your socialist crap programs add to the U.S. economy?
Oh, and she recommends that the US perfect time travel and pull out of WWII before Operation Cobra.
That’s right, the “WAR on poverty” has grown and grown so has the amount of money WE’RE spending on it. But then, if the povertees were not kept on the plantation where would the democRATS be today?
Hillary is running for President because she LOVES POWER.
She means it.
One of the few reasons to vote for McCain.
