There’s a time warp here ... no self respecting yachtsman is racing his boat in Nantucket Sound in mid-March. Most boats are still high and dry in winter storage ... and unless swimmers are members of the local polar bear swim team, no one is swimming in 40F water.

Yes, there was a time warp. I found the original story, and apparently the photo was just released. But the incident happened in the summer of 2002.

It happened 5 and a half years ago. (Not that he hasn't done it since...)
