Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr.: Pastor inspires Obama's 'audacity' (Obama's close relationship)
Chicago Tribune ^ | Jan. 21, 2007 | Manya A. Brachear

Posted on 03/13/2008 11:21:37 PM PDT by CreativePerspective

Obama says that rather than advising him on strategy, Wright helps keep his priorities straight and his moral compass calibrated.

"What I value most about Pastor Wright is not his day-to-day political advice," Obama said. "He's much more of a sounding board for me to make sure that I am speaking as truthfully about what I believe as possible and that I'm not losing myself in some of the hype and hoopla and stress that's involved in national politics."

Wright has continued on an independent path ever since, often questioning the common sense of Scripture, objecting to mandatory prayer in schools and clashing with clergy who preach prosperity theology, a popular notion among black pastors that God will bestow wealth and success on believers.

In his 1993 memoir "Dreams from My Father," Obama recounts in vivid detail his first meeting with Wright in 1985. The pastor warned the community activist that getting involved with Trinity might turn off other black clergy because of the church's radical reputation.

When Obama sought his own church community, he felt increasingly at home at Trinity.

Later he would base his 2004 keynote speech to the Democratic National Convention on a Wright sermon called "Audacity to Hope," --also the inspiration for Obama's second memoir, "The Audacity of Hope."

Though Wright and Obama do not often talk one-on-one often, the senator does check with his pastor before making any bold political moves.

So it's not even "just" that Obama belonged to this church -- and there is no way he could not agree with the preachings of Wright, or he would have left the church long ago -- BUT this anti-American "pastor" is a close advisor to Obama.

Note this article is from over a year ago, Jan. 2007, but the MSM didn't bother to tell us about Wright's anti-US positions all that time.

The Obama DemonRats have been trying to perpetrate a fraud on the American people. Obama is a black radical activist disguised as a “mainstream” Democrat. His “church” is nothing but the Nation of Islam with a false front. Obamanation must be exposed as the con man that he is. He’s a smiley-faced Al Sharpton.

Interestingly. This pastor quit his the church a few months ago, and joined Obamas team as an advisor! It would be hard for him to gain distance when the guy is working on his election team as we speak!

I took a deep breath and sat through Bill O=Reilly taking credit tonight for being the first to expose the rantings of Barbecue O'Bama's Hate America advisor, the Right Reverend Wright.

Seam Hannity has been all over this idiot Wright for months. I'd like to see him bi+chslap that @$$munch O'Reilly in primetime.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that Hussein is 4% black and 45% Arab - the remainder Caucasian.

Not that I really care one way or another 'cept for the possible connection with Islam and Muslims, mind you.

Funny, huh?
It's a "smear" to suggest he has an islamic background, but it's just fine that he has ties to black terrorists who bombed the pentagon and is a member of a radical anti-american Christian church...

What frightens me is this guy could get in office by repeating the words “hope” and “change” over and over, his opponents can’t criticize him because of his race nor even mention his name. When we say anything negative about him we’ll have to look over our shoulders and whisper “you know who” in hushed tones. Meanwhile, his mesmerized followers are whipped into a frenzy chanting “O-ba-ma! O-ba-ma!”

This is turning into some really scary Cult of Personality shit not seen since the 1930s, and never on our continent.

B. Hussein and his minions, will try to tell you that Jeremiah Wright often just gets "wound up", during his sermons and says things to shock people.

Its simply not true if you watch the video, its all premeditated.

As "firery" as his rhetoric is, he constantly checks his notes, He says what he means and he means what he says!

This is a man who scripts his every word, its personally edited and rehearsed, he is an enemy of The United States, then again......so is Obama.

The recent TV footage of Wright making some outrageous statements in his sermons is very damaging. Obama has to distance himself and stay away.

Wright talks a lot of scat in the tradition of the Black Rev, Stickin it to the man. I do not know how much of this trash he or his parishioners actually believe, but most of it has to be cant that is understood to be false but is used for its value in infuriating White People. It Works.

I refuse to be bamboozled or Okey-doked by this slick-talking racist demagogue. And, btw, does anyone notice that Obama uses Malcolm X terms like bamboozled and okey-doked when he is talking to black audiencess? The whites in the crowd never get it, but it sure hits home with blacks.

I think someone should do a little research into how Rev.Wright defines “hope” and “change.’

He better find a way or he will eat it politically. Possibly
he can make a stronger statement against Wright’s sermons or
have a flying monkey point out excessive comments by other ministers.

That’s the theme song for this campaign.

Living Colour
Cult of Personality
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZ5SVDYBNrY

Look into my eyes, what do you see?
Cult of Personality
I know your anger, I know your dreams
I’ve been everything you want to be
I’m the Cult of Personality
Like Mussolini and Kennedy
I’m the Cult of Personality
Cult of Personality
Cult of Personality

Neon lights, A Nobel Price
The mirror speaks, the reflection lies
You don’t have to follow me
Only you can set me free
I sell the things you need to be
I’m the smiling face on your T.V.
I’m the Cult of Personality
I exploit you still you love me

I tell you one and one makes three
I’m the Cult of Personality
Like Joseph Stalin and Gandhi
I’m the Cult of Personality
Cult of Personality
Cult of Personality

Neon lights a Nobel Prize
A leader speaks, that leader dies
You don’t have to follow me
Only you can set you free

You gave me fortune
You gave me fame
You me power in your God’s name
I’m every person you need to be
I’m the Cult of Personality

Interesting side note - the Living Colour vocalist, Corey Glover, is currently touring with the Jesus Christ Superstar troupe, playing Judas. Saw him last Sunday, he has an excellent voice and stage presence. Good casting.

Has anyone else also noticed that Obama consistantly dresses like Malcolm X - the dark suit, white shirt, and thin dark tie? I think there is a lot more going on here, a lot more signals.

Oprah used to attend the church also, but stopped about 15 years ago I heard. I wonder why?

Take a look at these photos of Malcom X and see what you think?

Isn’t it disgusting, also, that we and the MSM have known about all of this for a long time, and that it doesn’t make headlines until the politicians decide it does?

I think Obama wears an ordinary suit and tie just like those worn by millions of American men.

I also think that to focus on that is to damage any effort to bring Obama's radical agenda to light. It makes the accuser look desperate. There's far too much legitimate material available to try to make an ordinary suit into something controversial.

A gift of $22,500 to this radical, anti-american religious organization in 2006 says to me he is much more than involved he is committed to it's values it is Obama .

Jeramiah is more akin to a fanatic Immam than a Pastor. Very little difference in attitude.

One more thing, alnick - maybe I should run my observations by you to see if I’m seeing correctly with my own eyes.

Obama often wears (rather than consistently, my mistake) a “Malcolm X” style get-up - does that pass your approval or is my observation out of line? I’m so glad we have people like you on FR to keep us in line.

Obama saying that he believes in Christ is not inconsistent with Islamic teaching as Christ is honored as prophet in Muslim religious teachings. Axelrod, Wright and Obama have been geniuses at twisting things to make the uttering of his middle name inappropriate. No one can criticize Obama or recognize that his mania is driven by his blackness. It is liberal racism.
We are going to have race riots this summer because of what the Democrats have allowed to happen.

I think you are right. We are suppose to believe that a black person is ready to lead this nation, and I would like to believe that. However, this current racism we are hearing from the black community and obama’s unwillingness to put distance between it, is evidence that he is not willing to SERVE ALL THE PEOPLE. I am waiting for a black leader to just once, thank the white people for the financial and personal sacrifices they have for this country, beginning with the American Revolution. Instead, we hear the damning of America, not only from Rev. Wright but essentially Mrs. Obama comments were spot on with the reverends. Something is not right with all this.
