Dawn Wells was one of those women of my youth that gave me that tingling feeling that, years later, I understood.

I gave her a hug by proxy over the phone -- Sherwood Schwartz, the creator of Gilligan's Island and The Brady Bunch, was making an appearance with her, and was promoting it on a talk show. I asked him to give her a hug for me the next time he saw her. I'm sure he did it; if he's like any other red-blooded American guy, that was reason enough.
