rules-link only----suspended for wearing shirt with gun on it.
Why school uniforms should be the way to go.
either that or allow any non-pornographic image on your T-shirt.
In protest,
other kids should go to school with pictures of
hammers,
wrenches,
baseball bats,
books...
and demand to be suspended.

I bought one for my dad at thoseshirts site.
Take a Kid to a Gun Show.
The left is totally crazy in the head
No.
Years back when in school, of course I would have disagreed. A parent today and with a wife that’s a teacher, I see it a bit differently and the idea of uniforms makes complete sense.
But it’s OK to give them porn in the schools!
Take a Kid to a Gun Show.
Take a principle with you too. They are the ones that need a broader education.
Uniforms for government schools seems reasonable, but in the meantime, I hope this family sues for money and not just the right to wear the shirt to school.
This one’s better. About ten years ago a BU student was suspended for wearing a tee shirt that said “It’s a White Thing”, on the day following a fellow student wearing a tee shirt that said “It’s a Black Thing, you wouldn’t understand”. One shirt, you see, was “offensive”.
This is called, "Preparing the Child for the Real World".
One visit and they’re hooked.
The indoctrination begins early. My 5-yo Grandson was forced to turn his t-shirt inside out at preschool because it said “Guns n Roses”.
Abolish government schools is the best way to go. Not only do they force socialism by their existence on every child, they make every property owner a renter through property taxation. They teach an aberrant world view and assure that future elections will be decided by those already trained in socialism and conditioned by tyranny.
Education for the common good arguments have been exposed for their socialist ends. The "common good" is not the sum of individuals goods, but the establishment of a socialist monolithic state. Education should not fall in the jurisdiction of the government, but then again if people were free to think without the indoctrination of the state they might revolt against this rising tyranny.
When fear and stupidity rule. They really are nothing but a bunch of bleating sheep.
No, common sense was the first to go away.
Oh, you should. Scarily pertinent even after all these years. It describes a world in which virtually all printed matter is prohibited...
You could even take the principal along, if you can get him/her to go...
Mandate uniforms, and you end this nonsense.
not only that, but principals too..
guns don’t kill people. T-shirts do.
Not trying to be an ass here, but when you make a statement like this, make sure you spell "principal" correctly...
I was in a public high school the other day to watch my daughter perform for some judges with her home school orchestra. One of the dad’s in the audience was perusing Shooting Digest magazine.
I joked to him that if he was a student, he’d be instantly and permanently expelled for the big bad gun pictures in the magazine.
I want one of those shirts. I don’t usually wear T-shirts except white ones as undershirts, but I’ll make an exception for one of those.
I took a small stack of gun magazines (printed publications) to jury duty last year. Although I was itching for a debate on the subject, nothing was ever said.
I bought that shirt for my 17 yr old daughter. Best gift ever. Instant parental cool.
She totally enjoyed the reactions of the lib teachers and the admiration of the guys.
Since my daughter in law began homeschooling my two grandkids 2 years ago they are learning more and learning it much faster than their friends who attend government schools.
And equally as important, they don't get a daily dose of political correctness, enviro-whacko propaganda, and anti-Christian bias like kids do at government schools today.
This would be a very acceptable T-shirt image in our pubic schools.
Why? The principle principal doesn’t know how to spell it either!
Yup.
I recall getting a mail out for a Board of Education member who said she “would demand excellance in education.”
Like you said, ....
Hm. In my Boy Scout Troop we had a problem with a kid who showed up with his mom with matching “Jack Daniels” T-shirts to an outing. On that basis we instituted a rule that said that no Scout could wear a T-shirt with something on it that he could not legally own. On that basis, and given the laws in Illinois, he’d be a year short of being able to wear that T-shirt.
So a homo school administrator can decide that on a tee-shirt a condom on a banana symbol is fine but not a Glock symbol?
Funny, you are always on the other side of issues here.
Let us try to find some middle ground. On the issue of stomping puppys; I am against it. You?
Oooooh, that bothers you! But if the school administrator decided that a Glock symbol was fine but not a condom on a banana .... well, that would be OK by you.
Bias, authoritarianism, prejudice, having an agenda -- these are to be avoided by school administrators. Unless they work in YOUR favor, huh? Then they're perfectly acceptable. Desirable, actually.
If the school administrator is responsible to the parents, either directly or indirectly, I'm in favor of giving that individual full reign over the school. He rules the roost.
He wants to pull this condom crap and risk his job, that's his choice.
The parents gave the student permission to wear the shirt. Case closed. The parents are the one and ONLY decision makers for their children’s clothes, hair, shoes, etc..
thanks for the thread..
marked to read later
I agree. The parents are the decision makers.
Until the student walks into school. Then school rules apply. Certainly if that offends the parents, they are free to move to a school district more suitable to their "tastes".
You don’t get it do you?
If the parents approve then screw the Administrator. I decide what my children wear not one of my employees.
Notice you avoided the puppy question. I thought it was a soft ball but I guess not for you.
I hear this crap from everyone of you Liberals.
I am not going to sell my home and move because of a douche bag employee at school. If anything, they will change or move.
The school rules are guidelines and they sure as hell don't run my life; yours maybe but not mine.
You do know that you are no more than a sheep.
I disagree. The parents authority NEVER ends. A public school has no right to institute a uniform policy or tell parents how to dress thier kids. That is 100% a parental decision. The public, taxsucking bureaucrat leaches who live off the paychecks of private citizens do not have the authority to say "no", when the parent says ""yes".
And no, parents are NOT obligated to move just to retain their GOD given authority.
In 1612, Galileo discovered that the Earth did not revolve around you. Get over yourselves.
Good answer Sally....... eyes rolling.
You might want to refrain from debating issues with adults, especially about children with parents.
It might behoove you to stay off of the gun threads. You are way over your head there too.
I think you owe an apology to all the sheep that have just been defamed.
Thanks for the correction. I forgot about the students PAL in principal
No problem. Hey, what are English teachers for? Hehe...:-)
