Where else could a young man who grew up herding goats in Kenya get the chance to fulfill his dream of a college education? Where else could he marry a white girl from Kansas whose parents survived war and depression to find opportunity out west?

Marry a white girl? I am sorry, this is one heck of a poor choice of words....what does it bring to the speech other than intimating this is a racist country and his father beat it.

I know a very nice couple. He’s from Kenya, she’s a white lady from Missouri.
They are conservative and work in (voluntary) charitable organizations to help out folks in Africa.
Does he not realize he just degraded every black woman, including his own wife? He basically said marrying a white woman is the ultimate goal. WOW. And the scary part is they will continue to fawn and swoon and eventually vote for him.

God help us educate and reason with people to avoid the unmittigated disaster that either of them would be.
Unfortunately, our only hope of avoiding that umittigated horrible disaster is a milder disaster in the form of McCain. At least with him we will hold ground in the war, have a chance at a better government spending record, and have a much better chance at justices on the Supreme Court who will finally overturn Roe v. Wade.

OBAMA needs to put a spot of color in his rallies; also needs to get some light in the rooms where his rallies are held - put up at least a small American flag (or a big one) to counter the idea of his lack of patriotism as well as to add some color to the room. The word CHANGE on his campaign posters was nice for a while, but now he needs to get his name on a few (more colorful) posters and at least on the front of his podium. He and his wife need to dress a bit more colorfully instead of black all the time, in dull color ties; Michelle won’t like it, but she also needs to perk up and use a little touch of colorful lip gloss!
HILLARY is outdoing OBAMA in the color and lightness of her rallies. I’m not for either one of them, but I hate watching the Clintons use psychology time after time to their advantage.

One thing about Obama- he pronounces things like John Kerry would. It bothers me. Does he pronounce it “Keenya” or “Kenya”? The way he said “Tollyban” rubbed me as fussy and Thurston Howell-ish. He should work for NPR.
