What Huck’s not saying is that its a pretty good bet to stay in the race:

There’s about a 6 percent chance that McKook won’t finish the race. He’s 72, hypertensive, hated, and had a previous bout with cancer. Those are not good longevity factors. Ask your neighborhood actuary. And, thats about as good a chance as Huck ever had.

And, he’s a man of faith. . . . Let us pray . . . .

“He should have kissed up to the likes of Rush,”

If this is a battle between Rush Limbaugh and Mike Huckabee on conservative stature, then you lose at a nuclear bomb level.

Huckabee and Romney have never done anything for conservatism, Rush was there before them and he has taken the mantle of William F. Buckley as the leader of a movement.

Rush’s only roll in modern political life has been to promote conservatism (and convert people) for almost three decades, politicians come and go but Rush educates and creates.

Any objective observer can see he’s just being a jerk.

That is exactly the course, taken by current "leaders" such as Limbaugh, Coulter, Savage and sometimes Hannity, that hurts their own efforts.

1. I guess maybe you didn't read the article.

2. Huckabee continues to serve now, by standing up for the true conservatism of meeting current problems based on the principles of America's founding.

3. Buckley and Reagan won arguments by being appealing and by avoiding ridicule, slurs, and slander. Rush Limbaugh, if he continues his course, will never serve conservatism as did Buckley. But Huckabee has been doing this for over a decade and is already there on that high, strategically advantageous road.

McCain is the nominee. Deal with it.

McCain is going to suffer a humiliating defeat in November, I hope everyone can deal with that.

Tell me RBM, just what is it about Mike Huckabee’s core principles and beliefs that disagrees with yours?

One caveat: tell the truth.

Been there, done that. I don’t think you want me to post the immense evidence that Huckabee is not a conservative, yet again.

You are right about Rush. Although Id never vote for Huckabee, I have no problem with him staying in the race. Unfortunately we have McCain as the nom. and IMHO the primary choices were slim. So now we are stuck with 4 liberals to choose from. The huckster has no chance of winning the nom or the pres. Zero. McCain may win the pres. but thats not good news for conservatives either.

Id say we are in for some rough times.

Doing what? If you had a case to sell to conservatives, it would have been promoted by now.

This is a primary, if you have huge insights then you need to share them with the world now.

This is the CAMPAIGN, now is the time to put out all of the positive selling points, this isn’t theory, this is the 2008 primary, you are on stage, now!

I have come to like Huckabee and I want him in the race, and I am in awe of his campaign and skills, and of his supporters, this is historical stuff.

But if they go too far, then they become like the Romney people.

I could have voted for Romney....but not enthusiastically. And I have no problem with the “issues” of most of Huckabee’s supporters. But the huckster is a complete fraud and will drag down the Right to Life/social conservative groups.

“Rush’s only roll in modern political life has been to promote conservatism (and convert people) for almost three decades ...”

And neglect his wives.

And sink Bible-believing Pat Buchanan.

And pop pills.

And sink Bible-believing Mike Huckabee.

He’s also the de facto founding father of name distortion:
That may be the most enduring Limp-baugh legacy.

I know what you mean, Huckabee is imperfect, but remember we had a condom full of disgusting virus called Mitt Romney that was trying to buy himself into the White House just a month ago, so I guess that we could do worse than a successful governor of 11 years, and evidently a heck of a leader and politician!

I at Free Republic definitely don’t know that. What’s your source?

Well, it turns out I was off by 95 million.

The money quote "The total net tax increase under Huckabee's tenure was an estimated $505.1 million," is here at FactCheck.org

You can find more well-researched information about Huckabee's deplorable fiscal record here at the club for growth.

The campaign is going nowhere.

The whole strategy is, “I’m staying in”
He whines about a debate and yet never differentiates himself from McCain.

So, your war is against Rush Limbaugh.

You are bearing false witness unless you can show convincing public evidence that the man, rush Limbaugh has neglected his wife.
