Limbaugh Urges Republicans to Vote for Hillary
NewsMax.com ^ | February 28, 2008 | Jim Meyers

Posted on 02/28/2008 2:09:07 PM PST by no dems

It may be sound unbelievable, but conservative Rush Limbaugh is urging Republicans to cross party lines this Tuesday in primaries in Ohio and Texas and vote for Hillary Clinton.

During his No. 1 rated radio show and on his Web site, www.rushlimbaugh.com, the former Clinton archenemy has told listeners to “pimp themselves” for just one day vote by voting for Hillary to keep the Democratic Party “at war with itself.”

Citing a story in a Texas newspaper headlined “Many Republicans to Vote for Obama," Limbaugh told listeners this week: “I understand I've got a big challenge here to try to get Republicans to change their minds on this and vote for Hillary to keep her in the race, to keep that party at war with itself . . .

“It's clear that Republicans in Texas have been listening to this program where we have advised Republicans to pimp themselves for a day and go vote in the Democrat primary . . . I just think, at this stage, the longer Hillary can stay in this, the better for us.”

Limbaugh said he wants to see Hillary and Barack Obama continue battling, noting that the battle will end if Hillary is vanquished and Obama can focus completely on presumptive GOP nominee John McCain.

“I know I'm fighting an uphill battle . . . vote for Hillary to keep this campaign going, this 'uncivil war,'” Rush said.

“Remember what this is, this is about us winning. You have to understand, it's not about Hillary winning; It's about us winning. It's about our party winning. It's about those people losing. They've got some problems in the Democratic Party. It's not all sweetness and light over there . . .

“If Hillary loses this thing, all of that's going to come to a screeching halt. We want all the disruption in that party as possible. It's about us winning.”

Well, nobody would love to see this Democratic Party in-fighting go all the way to the Convention in Denver more than I. I'd love to see Ted Kennedy and Shirley Jackson Lee in the middle of a bloodbath on the convention floor.

Comments anyone? Do you think Pubbies in Texas and Ohio will go for this?

I think Limbaugh has consistently hit the wrong note in these elections from start to finish. He’s a good talker, heart’s in the right place, but he’s no political strategist.

I agree..I want it to go to the floor, then have hillary steal it by more delegates (meaning she steals superdelegates AND has MI and FL seated and counted), even if b. hussein obama wins the popular vote..THEN they’ll have war..

What would really be hilarious is watching the MSM coverage of this. Could you see them start to truly show their biases in full and start going after their other news colleagues? THAT would be great! Maureen Dowd in a headlock with Barbara Walters, etc...

A couple weeks ago the call was to vote for Hillary because McCain was terrible. Now he says it is about us winning.

I think the RINOs in the party were right about conservatives eventually falling in line.

I get the feeling that the big name talk hosts shill for the GOP insiders and this seems like an inside the beltway strategy that keeps conservatives from voting against McCain.

My preference is for an anti-McCain vote in both states next Tuesday in the Republican Party.

I don’t see why they shouldn’t. There is no point in voting in the Republican primary - it’s over.

If neither Democrat can get the required number of delegates, it comes down to superdelegates and/or Michigan/Florida. This is a no-lose situation for us as far as I can see.

I have been saying this for 3 weeks on this forum. When I first said it, I was attacked mercilessly. When I next urged it, it was about 50/50. Last week when I mentioned it a third time, most of you agreed. Hopefully there is time to change a lot of white male minds in TX and OH to pull the lever for Hillary and watch and enjoy as she and Hussein turn the nastiness factor up to 11 all the way through June 7th and to Denver. Vote Hillary.

Mixed feelings:

1. In principle, I don’t like the fact that, in many states, folks who KNOW they aren’t “sincere” members of a given political party, nevertheless can re-register and vote a “muck up the enemy’s primary” ballot.

2. But I guess since it’s a practical impossibility to prevent such things(*), and since the Dems certainly revel in doing it to the GOP, I suppose we may as well do it to the Dems, too.

(* — Impossible because there is just no reasonable way to tell those who are insincerely joining a party and those who sincerely have changed their views, etc.)

It’s misleading to say Rush “urged” his listeners to pimp for Hillary. It was a caller who suggested it and he simply discussed it on air. He did not “urge” anything.

Rush thought about it for a while after several of us called in and pointed out that we need to be rid of the Clinton’s once and for all. This ought to do it.

Rush has rethought his first position and thinks she needs to lose.

I totally agree. If Obama wins, it is highly unlikely he will ask her to be his running mate. If she wins, look for her to pick him. Then we will have both, and stand a good chance of losing. Do not let her have the chance to do more damage than the Clintons have already done.

Clever strategies to keep two enemies at one another’s throats so as to hurt them both has a habit of backfiring in real life. In movies and books, this strategy doesn’t work quite so well either.

I side with the opinion that we should defeat them in detail at the earliest possible moment. Anything less honest makes us too much like them (the Democrats).

I live in a very Republican district. Did early voting last Tuesday...at the time, majority of voters appeared to be signing in to vote Dim. I voted for Obama hoping to strengthen his position when Hillary takes the nomination using the superdelegates. My guess is many Texas GOP and Independents are voting Dim...and those votes are splitting at least 80/20 in favor of Obama. If the Dims can stick us with McCain by crossover voting in blue state primaries, it is only fair we get to play with their choices too. ;-)

Rush is wrong. Knock Hillary out now.

She will be. But not now. If we do as Rush says, she will win by 1-4%, which still leaves her behind Obama by 200 delegates, but keeps her around. The miracle scenario is for her to steal the nomination away from Obama, and set the establishment against the base. We may be able to take back the Senate if that happens.

Once Rush urges Republicans to cross over to mess in the dem primaries we might finally see a move by the state legislatures to stop this crossover madness. Outraged dems will be making it an issue. Then, perhaps, we could have a decent primary season where WE get to pick our nominee and not democrats.

Besides that I voted Dim once in a primary years ago to vote for a person in a local race ( everything around here is Dim ) and I never want that taste in my mouth again.

I am still angry that my primary means nothing to me. My top 2 candidates are still on the ballot and I will vote for one of them but it is meaningless. I already have a hunting trip scheduled the week of November 4th so I do not have to whore myself out.

Yeah, but remember, Rush has half of his brains tied behind his back. Maybe if he really wanted to pimp, for one day he would untie those brains. Sometimes I think the systems are all broken, as several of the Democrats admitted crossing over to vote....creating controversy for Republicans. I think you all in America need a POLL tax, and use that money for the Presidential Elections! I wonder if they made Obama use his full name in Texas and Ohio putting Hussein...on that line, difficult choices for you in America.

It may be sound unbelievable, but conservative Rush Limbaugh is urging Republicans to cross party lines this Tuesday in primaries in Ohio and Texas and vote for Hillary Clinton.

Rush, I beat you to it - I voted for Mrs. Cankles around noon today.

I immediately gargled with an entire bottle of mouthwash, and when I get home I plan to take an hour-long bath in pure iodine, followed by an enema. Thereafter I'll relax a bit by watching the Stanley Cup finals, live from freshly frozen-over Hades.

It truly HURT to say "Dhimmicrat" when the lady asked "what party?," especially considering that Fred Thompson was on the ballot. Well, some people spill their blood for their country, and some of us have to do what I did. I still don't know what's worse, but I do know that the body can replenish its blood supply.

Obama can only do as well as he did because he went against Clinton and because he’s competing only on the left side of the spectrum among Democrats. She’s hamstrung in what she can do since she would alienate part of her own support by going after him, something the right doesn’t need to worry about. In the national battle Clinton is more competitive for the swing and undecided voters. Obama is to far left and he’s inexperienced, something which does matter to those that will swing the election one way or the other in November. Clinton would be the larger threat, no matter what some are trying to say now. -IMHO
