Sen. John McCain has asserted his opposition to Russian President Vladimir Putin a number of times, going so far as joining with Sen. Joseph Lieberman, D-Conn., in 2005 to introduce legislation calling on President Bush to suspend Russian's membership in the Group of Eight.
That opposition, however, is being called into question by links that have been established in various reports between McCain's campaign manager, Rick Davis, and Ukrainian billionaire Oleg Deripaska, who is suspected of having ties to organized Russian crime.
Davis even arranged for McCain to meet Deripaska at a time when Davis' lobbying firm was working under contract with Ukrainian political leaders supported by Putin's regime in Moscow.
Moreover, Davis' decision to retain his position in his lobbying firm while serving as McCain's 2008 presidential campaign manager raises questions about McCain's sincerity in his self-avowed campaign to eliminate influence peddling from U.S. politics.
It was in 2006 when Davis arranged an introduction between McCain and Deripaska, a billionaire Russian aluminum magnate, during an international economic conference in Davos, Switzerland, according to a report published this January in the Washington Post.
Davis, at the time of the meeting, was president of the George Soros-funded Reform Institute and managing partner in his Washington, D.C., lobbying firm, Davis, Manafort & Freeman.
Deripaska, whose net worth is estimated to exceed $13 billion, is widely reported to be a close ally of Putin.
At the time of the meeting, Paul Manafort, Davis' partner in the lobbying firm bearing their names, had a contract to advise Ukrainian politician and former prime minister Victor Yanukovych, the Putin-supported leader of the Party of Regions who in 2006 was then vying with Victor Yushchenko in the parliamentary elections in a bid to form a pro-Moscow government.

Glencore Enters Fight for Russneft Assets
Don't know what happened with that, but y'all might want to check it out :)
This is why I don’t trust McCain and will not be voting for him.
BTTT
In fact, APEC itself is important to Russia's emergence as a player on the world economic stage. People often forget that Russia is a Pacific as a well as a European country. Russia has been a part of APEC since 1997 when then US President Bill Clinton lobbied for Russia's entry into APEC to help then Russian President Boris Yeltsin, who was in the midst of economic difficulties that culminated in the Russian financial crisis of 1998.
Ukraine, Russia, hey what’s the difference. Eyes rolling.
The Clintons proved that China money can flow through this country with being stopped. Why wouldn’t others try?
FYI
McCain’s organization is a dirty bunch. I haven’t seen a single article about any of them that showed me something to like.
An LaRaza advocate, a guy who thinks tax cuts are expensive, now this?
From this link....
Lobbyist for Pakistan Maxed Out Donations to Clinton
...The Pakistan example is not isolated. Foreign influence from around the globe is present behind the curtains in our electoral process, as lobbyists and lawyers for Russian oligarchs, African dictators, and Middle Eastern sheiks donate heavily to the Presidential campaigns. DLA Piper, a massive campaign contributor, represents the President of the Cote Divoire, the Prime Minister of the UAE, the Government of Ethiopia, and the Government of Turkey. Oleg Deripaska, the powerful Russian oligarch, has hired Alston & Birdthe employees of which have already donated over $100,000 to Presidential campaigns.
Appreciate it- thank you.
FWIW, Hillie's on the list, among others. McQueeg ain't.
The Clintons have ties to the Communist Chinese, McCain has ties to organized Russian crime...
Sounds like business as usual in Washington. The sale of our country to the globalists is truly upon us.
Bob Dole: Indonesia's Man in Washington
...Dole, who has lobbied for foreign clients in the past, including Oleg Deripaska, Russia's youngest billionaire, soon accepted Indonesia's offer to lobby for Pertamina.
Jeez louise...
Not just McQueeg...
Rick Davis also served as president of the “Homeownership Alliance,” a made-up group that is actually a front for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. He is up to his keister with slimy clients, as is Charlie Black. Obama will have a field day with this in the general election campaign.

Lovely.
Isn’t that a lovely mix of names in that list.... I particularly like the last two names...
In 2006, McCain as chairman of the International Republican Institute, or IRI, openly supported Yushchenko, arguing Yanukovych's alleged ties to the Russian mafia and the KGB disqualified him from being the type of democratic leaders needed to advance the Ukraine's "Orange Revolution."
In the 2006 effort, McCain again was joined by Soros who was openly funding Yushchenko in the contest against Yanukovych.

Davis, Manafort & Freedman, Inc. In 1999, the firm had four active clients: GTECH Corporation (gambling), SBC Communication, Inc. (a Baby Bell phone company), COMSAT Corp. (a government-owned satellite company), and Fruit of the Loom, Inc. (a basic apparel manufacturer). Two of those companies, COMSAT and SBC, had major (and controversial) mergers pending before the Federal Communications Commission in 1999, and both mergers were approved (the Commerce Committee has legislative oversight authority, and therefore quite a bit of political influence, over the FCC). While Tim McKone, a McCain fund-raiser who left the firm in November 1999 to become the top lobbyist at SBC, handled the SBC and COMSAT accounts, it was Davis who was registered to lobby for GTECH through at least June 30, 1999, well into the campaign season.

...two of McCain’s top fund-raisers are also special-interest representatives. Timothy McKone, formerly of Davis, Manafort & Freedman, returned to his old employer SBC in November 1999 to become vice president for congressional relations. While campaign manager Davis employed McKone as an SBC Communications (and COMSAT) lobbyist at Davis, Manafort & Freedman, SBC was in the midst of a fierce regulatory battle for the right to purchase Ameritech Corp. for $62 billion. Ever the mindful campaign fund raiser, however, McKone sent out a fund-raising solicitation for McCain’s presidential campaign on May 11, 1999, proclaiming that, “John McCain has become a recognized leader on telecommunications, insurance, and aviation issues, stressing the need to promote competition and government deregulation . . .”
The chairman was certainly becoming a leader in milking the corporate cash cow; he was reported to have pressured the FCC into approving the SBC merger, which the agency did by early October 1999. The deal gave SBC control over one-third of all local phone service in the country. In the meantime, SBC has given McCain more than $45,000 since 1998.

KGB agents a government owned satellite company. Nice combination.

McCain was last on my list too but Obama’s words really scare me regarding where he could take this nation in the next 4 years.
And each one of those leads to more and more questions. It’s bad enough that he has a dismal record of being a anti-conservative ‘maverick’, but the level backroom maneuvering for these very odd agendas suggests he is dangerous as well.
Freeper, Calcowgirl has a lot more stuff on Rick Davis than this. This guy is involved with with the secondary mortgage market and other things that would give anyone pause.
I think that Rick Davis was the one who approached Pew and all those other left wing funds for funding for McCain.
The reason that I am not voting for McCain is McCain/Lieberman. This global warming scheme is a new affront to conservativism. It is like he is saying, you’re damned if you do, but you’re more damned if you don’t.
Well, I would lose all credibility on environmental issues on the state level if we had a Republican global warming alarmist
in the White house. I’m not going to do that.
