This is the first satellite we’ve had to shoot down.

And besides, the reason we have to shoot it down is because the Airforce is unable to communicate with it. They wouldn’t be able to detonate an explosive charge without being able to talk to the satellite.

Rig the explosive with it’s own radio. We can afford it if the alternative cost $15 million...

Thanks for adding this link to the exact page. I have been playing on the site for an hour....lol. It’s pretty cool. There is also a site run by the DOD here:

http://www.space-track.org/perl/login.pl

you have to register and get approved before you can use it though.

This version is all over the MSM now. Heat-seeking, indeed.

Good idea - you'll be betting on history's winners...

A hurry-up program to adapt the missile for this anti-satellite mission was completed in a matter of weeks; Navy officials say the changes will be reversed once this satellite is down.

And putting back the anti-satellite capability will thereafter be just a software download away

Sorry, I thought that you were talking about the Shuttle landing. I watched that and it was cool. As for the satellit shootdown, it would be cool to see it on telly.
