Five-year Amnesty Bill Under Discussion
NumbersUSA ^ | 2/18/08 | N/A

Posted on 02/18/2008 10:36:28 AM PST by Kimberly GG

"Some House Democrats are having behind-the-scenes discussions about creating a special visa for illegal aliens they believe will enjoy considerable Republican support. Under the plan, illegal aliens who can prove they have jobs, pay a fine, and pass a criminal background check will receive the gift of legal status for 5 years. The plan is designed to attract pro-business Republicans and those who backed the McCain-Kennedy amnesty bill by also increasing the number of visas issued for technical, temporary and agricultural workers."........

While I’m coming to the grips with the apparent fact that our government is going to grant some kind of amnesty (there is evidently no political will in D.C. for anything else), these Congress critters are on crack if they grant the amnesty before they secure the border. An amnesty with a still porous border is asking for all kinds of trouble.

And just why do we want to attract these business types ~ they number far less than 1,000,000 voters, and over here on the other side of the equation where we find the Republican rank and file there are tens of millions of voters.

Did the crowd behind this third or fourth illegal alien deal fail math or something?

“he plan is designed to attract pro-business Republicans and those who backed the McCain-Kennedy amnesty bill by also increasing the number of visas issued for technical, temporary and agricultural workers.”........”

As if the prior bills didn’t do that.

It’s just another Bush-like wage depression ploy. If the jobs can’t be outsourced overseas, labor will be insourced to cut wages. Democrats years ago used to be against these scams, but they evolved into an elite white liberal party obsessed with race, abandonning care for the standards of living of all Americans.

Obama knows this, and soothes his minions by promising road-work jobs.

Of course, nothing is ever discussed about what to do with the illegals that don't qualify for their amnesty program.

So what they're rally saying is that millions will get amnesty, but no one will be sent home.

“...have jobs, pay a fine, and pass a criminal background check will receive legal status for 5 years.”

This is no different from the previous “not-amnesty-because-you-pay-$,” with the exception that I believe that last “not-amnesty” didn’t require the person to have a job.

Legal status for only five years??? Hah - what a joke! Does anybody really believe that after five years their legal status would be revoked? Get real!!!

Kimberly, I am so sick of their " behind-the-scenes discussions"...this is getting to be a habit with those that have been put in power.

I pray they get voted out as soon as possible.

Now once again we have to tell them NO way. Thanks so much for letting us all know about this.

With the GOP nominating Crazy McCain the pro amnesty fanatic, it is not surprising that this will come up again. It is tragic that the biggest threat to this country come from our elected officials.

They are determined to open the borders! No matter what they tell you, the real reason is that they need new constituents and new working bodies to pay taxes.
The truth is that Whites are birth-controlling themselves right out of existence. Too few are being born.
Politicians don’t care about the Whites who are getting older. They care about building up a workforce that will pay more taxes and “save social security”.
So they can blather all they want to. They will do what they had planned all along.

We are so screwed.

Whoever ends up President, prepare to see your tax burden skyrocket
when MILLIONS of Amnestied illegals start collecting YEARS of
earned income credit for prior years when they were simply known
as illegals, identity thieves, etc.
And a fair number of them get the "additional child tax credit"
and some also get the regular "child tax credit".

And as their extended families get here and they and all their
offspring get their multi-generational entitlement gravy train
up to full steam.
(imitating some characteristics of some of our native-born citizens!).

Even Ross Perot will be shocked at the "giant sucking sound" at
the US Treasury with this happens.

“And just why do we want to attract these business types ~ they number far less than 1,000,000 voters, and over here on the other side of the equation where we find the Republican rank and file there are tens of millions of voters.”

It’s about the money.

The MSM makes it about race, so do the liberal politicians pandering for their money men. Except for Lou Dobbs no one talks about the moneyed lobbies pushing for this-resort/gaming, transportation, janitorial, “unskilled” labor industries, etc.

The money doesn’t care about party, nation, standards of living, the future, etc. They care about making more money now. They call it “globalization” to appeal to liberals and free traders and right wing/Chamber of Commerce class warriors.

I think Congress feels good about this now because the MSM has been pushing the white urban liberal template that “Hispanics” want “comprehensive immigration reform” do to assumptions. However no poll stats are stated, and the one’s that are don’t really reflect that question.

BTW, Hillary went in front of Silicon Valley supporters and promised big HB visa increases. Instant increased profits for them without doing any work except buying off politicians.

“They care about building up a workforce that will pay more taxes and “save social security”.”

The politicians don’t “care.” They are told what to do by the profiteers. It doesn’t matter what color, blah, blah, the others are.

It’s supply and demand. From the globalists/big money view borders and citizenship and country are unfair trade barriers. The money doesn’t care about social security and the money wants to inflate the workforce.

Unions used to fight against this but their heirarchies have been taken over by rich lefties who identify more with the “world” and the non-white “other” than their membership’s economic well-being.

Does anyone know if this special visa class permits application for permanent residency? If it does, then it has a pathway to citizenship. If it does not, then the holders will have to go home. But it will get them in the system so they can be tracked.

Is the list (click on link at bottom of article) you’re looking at for the SAVE Act?

Also, last I heard the SAVE Act has a provision in it that MUST BE REVISED before it passes. It’s my understanding that the provision provides immunity for Churches who provide sanctuary for illegals. Think Elvira.

Yes, indeed. Senator McCain (and others) will promise us that they absolute MUST go home when the five years are up.

Umm... If this particular “not amnesty” passes, then there is NO WAY that the holders of these special visas will be sent home after five years.

It’s time this party have it’s head handed to it! They forgot who put them there and are so stone stupid, will not realize it until they are a minority third party of no consequence; and from the last election, that appears to be happening fast.

Another behind the scenes, keep it hush-hush bill. Congress sees very lillte difference between the 3 candidates for President on immigration. The are counting on McPain to go along and bring Republicans with him.
As usual, Congress has done little to think this out;has done little to understand that This is another AMNESTY bill which the American people DO NOT want. WHERE’s the GD fence that was to built? How many miles have been completed? Signficantly less then the 700 miles which was funded !! And people keep electing these fools!
No AMNESTY !!

Besides the hitch about Churches providing Sanctuary I see nothing in this bill that guarantees funding. We’ve seen these asshats pull that ruse all too often. They get their law and then do what they want with it. To “H” with us.

I’m against any means of the Camel getting its nose under the flap of the tent. This is just leading the Camel to the tent and holding up the flap IMO.

Low-wage workers take more out of SS/M than they contribute. Low-wage workers pay nothing in Income taxes. Low-wage workers living 10 people to a house pay low per-person property taxes. Low-wage workers spend most of their money on groceries and other items not usually subject to sales taxes.

How can tax revenues be a justification for importing poor people who won’t pay taxes, but add to the cost of social safety net programs ?
