TEHRAN (Reuters) - The head of Iran's Revolutionary Guards said on Monday Israel would soon be destroyed by the "hands of Hezbollah", the Lebanese group which is backed by the Islamic Republic, Fars News Agency reported.
Guards commander-in-chief Mohammad Ali Jafari made the comment in a letter to Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah to offer condolences after the killing of senior guerrilla commander Imad Moughniyah in a car bomb last week in Damascus.
"In the near future, we will witness the destruction of the cancerous existence of Israel by the powerful and competent hands of the Hezbollah combatants", Jafari was quoted as saying...
Ever hear of the 10th Plague? Pharoah called God’s wrath down upon the first born of Egypt by his own words.
Maybe one day we can look in the sky and see that bright glow coming from the east and ask the question was that what used to be Iran. The world would be a better place with out Iran.
What part of “bless those that bless you and curse those that curse you” do these guys not understand?
who is this guy? is his group an “ngo” or it is an official part of what passes for government in iran?
Iran is a part of earth like it or not, and blowing the top yard of dirt into space would leave a hole in the planet. This might not be an entirely positive development.
There, fixed it.
I was taught you deal with threats immediately. Especially threats to your own existence. I hope Israel has a plan and is ready to execute it.
The hive was struck sharply by a rock and the hornets are buzzing all about looking for a culprit to sting
And God said no.
Where is the ‘Bagdad Bob’ alert?
Fill it with water and you have a nice big swimming pool. :)
Great. Now we have to find that much fresh water unless salt water would do the job. It’s another example of possible drawbacks to the plan.
We'll just call it another ocean. Imagine, an ocean without sharks.
Its another example of possible drawbacks to the plan.
Yeah but we can work out the kinks in the plan while it's filling if we want fresh water.
What’s wrong with salt water? We could call it the Iranian Sea.
Yeah, yeah. The Arabs are real good at this rhetoric. Of course, it turns up empty. How many times since 1947 have they threatened to drive the Jews into the sea?
That’s the whole problem. They never change their tune. The need to realize that Israel has a right to exist.
Obviously , due to Israels strategic position, (geographically and diplomatically) restrained reaction amounts to doing nothing in defense.
Pre-emption is Israels only option, but is unilateral "diplomatic suicide" , like a pinned down queen in a losing chess game
“In the near future, we will witness the destruction of the cancerous existence of Israel by the powerful and competent hands of the Hezbollah combatants”, Jafari was quoted as saying”
Olmert’s weak hands have been strengthened by his hideous showing in the last Hezzbulah-Israeli confrontation. It certainly looks like the Hezzis are grievously miscalculating that Israel will be weak twice in a row. This probably will not be the case. So, watch for a an aggressive and skillful counter strike by Israel this next time...and then watch the hezzis, Damascus and Tehran cry to the UN about Israel’s defending itself.
God speed to Israel in mucking up the Hezzbolah scum.
Our enemies gripe, grumble and threaten for years and then cease to exist in the blink of an eye.
Here’s another such story.

It dosen't have to be entirely positive. I'll accept 90 percent.
I would listen to him..
Blam I don’t think it is just fear...I think they had hard intel.
I agree, but hard intel doesn’t automatically precede open hostilities.
You pop a nuke plant or high profile terrorist and every security agency, from police to military to intelligence all go to maximum alert in CYA mode. Slamming the barn door after the cows run off is behavior documented through centuries of experience.
I’m reasonably certain Israel saw something they took seriously, as they should. But telling the difference between bringing mimsile facilities to full staff, with all electronics up and radiating, might be a CYA response, or prelude to an attack.
Hezbollah, Syria or both put their forces closer to attack status, increasing their capability. Israel responded to that and deployed one Patriot battery to the field near Haifa. Determining Hezbollah or Syrian intent from this action is much more difficult and for that reason, usually not even attempted.
In my opinion, losing a nuke facility is the much greater strategic loss, and therefore much more likely to provoke a concrete response, than than the loss of even one general to assassination.
The death of Mugniyeh doesn’t really change the strategic balance much. If the balance on the whole, resolved such that it was in Syria, Hezbollah, or Iranian interests to attack, it would have already taken place. If not, then a rational player with an eye on his long term objectives will not allow a face saving retaliation to interfere with the long term objective.
The exception to this is that humans can and often do become irrational in the face of extended provocation, and they also make mistakes and errors of judgements durig time is this kind of stress.
In my opinion, that is where the root of the current threat elevation lies. The longer the period between provocation and current, the less likely that irrationality will determine an enemy’s actions.
For Israel to whip out the Patriots they must be expecting something a little bigger then a Kassam Rocket, Hmmm
The death of Mugniyeh doesnt really change the strategic balance much
I for once will respectfully have to disagree with you...Mugniyeh was everything in the terror world....he was what Osama could only dream of becoming.
There will be a heavy response to his killing. I don't think we will see a direct attack on the state of Israel proper....they will hit an Israeli or American soft target on the fringes.
> What part of bless those that bless you and curse those
> that curse you do these guys not understand?
Oh, they understand that verse perfectly.
The problem is that they think it’s about THEM, the children of Ishmael, and not about the children of Israel.
Gods hand is on Israel. It will prevail.
if history is any indicator - I would think Hezbollah would respond. Last time Israel knocked off one of their henchman, they got 5 days of kaytushas into the northern galliee in response, a govt officer was assasinated and buenos aires bombing.
the nuke facility, while obviously of more strategic import, was a Syrian, not Hezbollah, asset. Could have Syria asserted its influence over Hezbollah to respond to the nuke facility strike, probably. However, I think Hezbollah has a greater degree of autonomy with respect to how it responds to losing one of its own leaders.
Report: Syria to present progress in Mughniyah killing probe within days
Hmmmmph.....
OMG!!!! If it’s true that Israel will soon be destroyed, that can only mean one thing...That being that Armageddon is closer than we thought...
You beat me to it. AMEN!!
*GBG* Love it!!!!
