Spot on, Sir!

This was a real show stopper:

Officials said the painkiller hydrocodone is the No. 1 drug by volume that TennCare funds.

Perhaps were talking $ volume rather than dosage volume, but either way one has to ask - what's the street price of hydrocodone in Tennessee? It must be especially low given the amounts being dumped..

I guess that explains the reaction by WV fans for Rich Rodriguez leaving for Michigan.

I don't know, but I think its around $10/pill. I know that some drugs will vary by the dosage level.

Remember that WV has a lower total population with a higher percentage of elderly then other states.

Well, I suppose between the drugs and the senility, Byrd really does represent his constituency.

Tennessee combines an extremely obese and rural population with socialized medicine in TennCare. There’s no market push behind TennCare at all. If you’re poor, you have it, and you don’t pay for it.

It’s not a good system. At all.

"17.4 prescriptions per capita"

Is that presently or lifetime? That is high.

Is that over a period of time?
Nobody takes that many meds- that’s insane!
But for instance if they are taking total prescriptions written and dividing by population, then that includes stuff like antibiotics and cough meds lol

What is really sad is that you have people who go to the emergency room just because they don't feel good, and since they don't have anything better to do they go get free services.
