I’m sorry. That post was about Hillary. I accept John with all his faults because he will give me 80-85% of what I want, strong leadership in the GWOT, and he can win. You didn’t actually think McCain if he could help it was going to deliver a victory to his chief rival - Romney would’ve done the same. That’s politics, not personal. Frankly when some so called conservatives say they will vote for Hillary over McCain, that’s their business, but perhaps they need to calm down.
VT’s Jim Douglas is a RINO. His Lieutenant Governor, however, Brian Dubie, is a Conservative. I’d pick Dubie before Douglas, but his sole responsibility is to preside over what is now a lopsided rodent State Senate (which it wasn’t a few cycles ago when the GOP captured the legislature in reaction against Howard Dean). I do hope Rossi is “reelected” this year to the office the rodent courts in WA state stole from him.
Fred was a bit too unseasoned in 1996. I personally wish now he had run for Governor in 1994 as opposed to the Senate, that might’ve given him a better shot (although he would’ve lacked for national exposure).
Who do you think will be the Dem nominee?
I think it will be Usama Hussein. Hillary is losing money and Virginia and Maryland should go Hussein next week.
Hillary will be their nominee.
I think his movie star status would’ve given him the recognition even as governor. I’d love to see Fred as U.S. attorney general.
Could go either way. Hillary will probably do something desperate. If I were Obama, I’d be scared of her and her supporters now. Think “Ron Brown.” I doubt either one would agree to be the other’s running mate.
If Fred is not chosen as VP, he may not take a cabinet position. From rumors I’ve heard recently, he’s going to run for our Governorship in 2010 (which will be his “retirement.”) There hasn’t been a respectable or decent Governor in my state in many, many years.
Good for him then. I go to Nashville almost yearly so it would be comforting to know Fred’s in charge.
I hope Fred runs for Governor so he can beat Junior in 2010.
I heard at one time that Frist was also thinking of running for Governor, any truth to that?
Yes, he is considering it. I expect to vigorously oppose that. He was a piss-poor leader. I always said he was fine as long as he was a backbencher, but he was not a leader.
