Ya, D, though C wasn’t bad. But option A is from Hell.

There isn’t a McCain ticket I’d vote for with him at the top.

Even Rush Limbaugh couldn't get Alan Keyes elected. But then again, he and the rest of the Jaw Bone Media can't kill off McCain.
Maybe my assumption of Rush's power as well as the rest of the Jaw Bone Media was a bad analogy.

I’d go with D, although I’d much prefer Thompson and Romney to switch positions.
B is barf alert, A is MEGA BARF ALERT, and C...Tancredo’s rant against Miami really bugged me. He alienated a lot of Cuban-Americans (who tend to vote Republican) with that one. If anything happened to Romney...I don’t even want to think about that.

D is nice but only a pipe dream at this stage. A is a total disaster. The others aren’t worth discussing. I don’t know if I can vote for McCain even against Hillary. His infamous temper and general mental health are huge questions on my mind. The running mate will be a major factor especially given his advanced age.

D. I am not voting R if McCain is the nominee. I never thought I would say it and have always been irritated when others have refused to vote party line in a presidential election. I will never be able to bring myself to do it.

I would vote for Romney/Thompson and that would be a balanced ticket in many ways.
I am hoping McCain's own campaign finance reform does him in (hard to take private money at this point).
And I'm counting that Rudy's poor judgement has remained consistent and that he was wrong when he said the winner in Florida would be the nominee. I think he is just endorsing McCain because he believes that. If Romney had won he would be endorsing Romney.

A & B are OUT. C and D are workable, D being the best of those 4 choices.
I would like to see Romney step up with Fred in advance of Tuesday as his potential VP candidate, it would make me feel a hell of a lot better about voting for him, instead of just against McCain.

There was much speculation on Fox last night that McCain would run with Huckabee. I don’t think I could vote for that pair. Maybe I could hold my nose and vote for McCain if he ran with Thompson or some other true conservative but I could not take two big government “moderates.” If the GOP wants to kiss off 10s of millions of conservative voters, then that’s the way to do it.

Ron Paul supporters... you got to love ‘em. If you want to post your presidential team, feel free to. Where in this thread does it say you can’t post YOUR team? Other SMARTER members haven’t had any problem voicing their opinion on their choices.
To: LibertyThug
McCain is basically a Dem; he nearly ran with Kerry last time. He and Kerry couldn’t work out the timing and some of the issues. But make no mistake...McCain is a Rockefeller Republican, which means...he’s a New Deal Dem.
Don’t be fooled.
