10 years ago Drudge broker the Monica story. Years before then, it was self-evident to most reasoned observers that Bill was a world-class sleaze and that Hillary was an all universe-enabler.
The Democratic party, reflecting our lower standards regarding moral rectitude, defended Bill Clinton during his impeachment proceedings, arguing that it was just about sex. This defense was reflexive, especially given Hillary's diatribe against the "vast right wing conspiracy."
Comforted by the knowledge that Bill had learned his lesson, Democrats turned to Hillary as their new standard bearer. She was not just the front-runner for her party's nomination, she was all but annoited without election as our nation's first woman president. This would shatter the glass ceiling for women everywhere. What could be more progressive, more liberal, more true to the Democratic party's principles?
The answer to this question, of course, is the election of an even more historically oppressed segment of our society, an African-American. However Bill and Hill were not worried. Senator Obama would surely not provide any real competition. He would get a substantial percentage, albeit surely not a majority, of the black electorate, and fade just like Jackson and Sharpton had done in prior elections.
However, Obama is not Jesse, is not Al. Obama ran not as a black candidate, but as a candidate who happens to be black. Moreover, he has displayed an oratory that appeals to both black and white liberals and moderates. In fact, early analysis fretted that he was not black enough to rise in popularity to even the level of Jackson or Sharpton. Remember; his early supporters were the Hollywood elite, northeastern liberals and not the black political establishment.
Then a few funny things happened on the way to the forum... Hillary stumbled regarding immigration and driver's licenses... Oprah stumped like an old-time pol... 94% white Iowa liked Obama enough to give him a winning plurality...
As a result, the Clintons and their minions, on the eve of the New Hampshire primary, read the polls, and in an act of stunning stupidity, played the race card.
Although Obama did not win Nevada, he did well-enough. Moreover, not only did black South Carolinians completely reject Hillary, but Obama performed decently with white South Carolinians to show that he wasn't just this cycle's Jesse Jackson.
Moreover, the Democratic party has sensed that Obama can be just as electable, if not more so, than Hillary, and without all the Bill and Hillary's sleazy baggage. Moreover, an Obama win in the Fall would elclipse even that of the first woman presidency.
Therefore, the Democratic party doesn't have to carry the Clintons' water anymore. The party will not have to continue defending the indefensible. It can now turn the page on a sorry period of American political history.
Moreover, it can exact a fitting retribution upon the Clintons for all of their excess, hubris, lies, and, in the end, their thinly veiled racial, political and emotional bigotry.
Witness Kerry, Kennedy, Leahy, et al. Hillary's loss will render Bill and Hillary a long-deserved sojourn to the wilderness of the American historical landscape.
Couldn't happen to a nicer couple. May they lose the map on how to get back.
The only way Hillary can rehabilitate herself is to nominate Obama as the VP.
And good riddance......
Obama will be harder to beat than Hillary. He is also more liberal than Hillary, and so might actually be the “worse” president from a conservative view. Which clearly means that we should still enjoy the ass-kicking he’s giving the Clintons! We’ll have that at least regardless of which of the libs finally win the nomination . . .

This says that the entire rotten apparatus of the Democrat Party, top-to-bottom, is about one thing, getting power no matter what. Not until Dems thought they could win without the Stainmaster and his Moll, were they willing to stop "defending the indefensible."
Worth a thought since neither Jesse Jackson nor Al Sharpton nor any of the other Black leaders have called the Clintons out on their behavior.
What they've said is even worse than what Imus said because I doubt that any Black person thought of Imus as a friend.
I don’t think we will ever be rid of these two hoodlums, though it does look like the the old Democrat establishment is trying to push them to the back of the bus. The flip side of that means the old guard thinks Obama will be more controllable. Will Obama fool them, or is he as shallow as he seems?

Obama is a heckuva good speaker.
I think I agree that Obama would be harder to beat. Too many white guilters, plus all the usual liberal suspects...not to mention that he is a really good speaker, if you don’t thinking about exactly what it is he’s saying that is. He’s also quite cleverly navigated the meanest tag team the Democrats have ever produced..so far. We can’t underestimate him.

Take a look at any rankings of liberals in the Senate. Clinton has been more conservative in her voting record than Obama.
I’d hardly say he’s navigated them. What I see is someone who would otherwise be a shoo-in for the Democratic nomination — good speaker, appeases white guilt, talks a lot of happy fluff, etc, just like the dems like — being taken down by a politically adept Clinton tag team. Personally, I hate the thought of having to compete with the Clintons. They pretty much mastered the art of manipulating elections during their time in office, while Obama is just a pretty-talking novice.

The first order of the day for any patriot is to help facilitate and accelerate the destruction of the Clinton political machine. All other issues will be easier to solve after that is done.
