For Conservatives the only hope now lies with retaking the Congress
myself | 23 January 2008 | trueblackman

As a true Conservative I was completely dishearted when Duncan Hunter dropped out of the race for President and I was willing to stay home this coming Election, but after a few days of deep thought, I feel like I can't stand on the sidelines as liberals in the White House and Congress have free reign to run my nation into the ground.

I served my nation with honor and pride, so I am now searching for truly Conservative Congressional Candidates to elect to majorities in both the House and Senate to limit the damage that a liberal Democrat or Republican can do to this nation.

Conservatives have to draw the line on reckless spending, government growth and massive entitlements that have never worked.

It is better to destroy within than to stand on the sidelines and do nothing.

Why? When we had it, we squandered it and became just like Democrats. I think the GOP does better in opposition. Maybe if we can get another leader like Newt, who doesn’t shoot himself in the foot (or in the b@lls), we can take Congress and something with it.

Bingo! You get the award. The GOP dumped the conservatives last go around.

There will be a lot of work to do, especially if Clinton or Obama wins. For the dims, it's a win-win situation - if they win, they get the first woman President or the first black President and another 'trophy' to put in their 'diversity' case. I thought we had a good chance with Thompson, but with him out of the race we're left with Romney or McCain and some pretty poor prospects.

Congress will be our only hope to put the brakes on a democratic President and the legislative tyranny he or she will unleash.

DUUUHHHHHHH!!

People, the most important thing we can remember about all of this is that the Gang of 535 (aka congress) can bring this out-of-control government and spending to a screeching halt tomorrow at noon — IF they wanted to.

But they DON’T — for several reasons:

1. They understand the need to vacuum the excess FRAUDS (Federal Reserve Accounting Unit Denominators) — there are no “dollars” circulating now! — out of circulation BEFORE the bulk of the dumb masses (say it really fast for maximum effect) catch on to the resultant inflation. If you question that statement, ask yourself why else would a criminal enterprise (the federal government) having the power to “create” “money” with the stroke of a pen NEEDS YOURS every April 15th?

2. While the dumb masses rant about the abusive practices of this top criminal enterprise’s subsidiary criminal enterprise (the IRS), the big guys can pose and posture for the cameras each year about this time that “something MUST be done to reign in the abuses of the IRS,” NOTHING WILL BE DONE until we clean house on Capitol Hill and get back to the HONEST, CONSTITUTIONAL MONEY called for at Art.1, Sect. 10. They’ve been playing a destructive game of 3 card monte with us for so long – and getting away with it – that, as Herman Cain’s book title declares – “They Think You’re STUPID.” And, hell, for MOST of the dumb masses, they’re right.

And THAT process starts in YOUR STATE and CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT by finding and supporting decent candidates — at ALL leverls — who will go to YOUR state capitol and Malfunction Junction and do that house cleaning. Not marching on Washington...not sending “money” to the RNC (LOL!)...not writing poison pen letters to these current jerks...but THROWING OUT THE CURRENT JERKS and doing it as many times as necessary to get it done.

And for you who, like a sad number of the dumb masses who THINK YOUR GUY IS OK, go to www.trimonline.org for your guy’s voting record on taxes and spending.

I could go on for volumes but you get the idea.

One final thought: RE-ELECT NOBODY!!!!!

Conservatives need to regain the reigns of power within the Congress.

I'm with you on that. Although I probably won't vote for President (unless the convention is brokered and gives us someone other than one of these four clowns), I will proudly vote to get Jim Ryun back into Congress.

It may be too early to discuss this with any degree of reason; but, beneath all the rhetoric and parody of this campaign there seems to be a death wish within the republican party.

Reading down this thread I see:

We need conservatives in congress - after the only two former congressional conservatives to run for president have been scratched from the race. The only two serious candidates still standing are the big business candidate and the open borders candidate - the other three will fade now that they've sucked support from Fred and DH.

No one wants to vote for a RINO - but all the advice we're getting is to vote for Mitt (maybe it's milestone fever - we're to get either the first black, the first female, or the first Mormon president).

We're supposed to develop new and presumably real, conservatives for the future - but it's already questionable that DH's son can take that seat. [The neighborhood is overrun with both dem's and Arnold pubbies - I'd guess that Duncan's constituency is now outnumbered despite the heavy illegal traffic.]

Oh, and developing future candidates is in reality a LONG term project - particularly against institutional opposition. Maybe we're looking for someone to run against Chelsea?

The core of this thread is salvaging the Republican party but after this kabuki I wonder if it is worth saving.

The one sentiment I can wholeheartedly endorse is "reelect no one" no matter which party it may hurt the most.

[Maybe I'll see it differently after my medicine]

Maybe we could draft Newt Gingrich and talk J.C. Watts to run with him. There’s a team I could really get behind. Would scare the Hell out of the Libs too.

Steve Pearce (NM-2)is running for Pete Domenici’s seat and has a conservative rating of 94.6. It’s a bit of an uphill climb against Udall (NM-3), but Tom’s ticked off a lot of folks in Northern NM with his slashing of the Los Alamos budget.

If Pearce gets in, we’ll have an ally.
