Some of their fans, especially a few on this very thread, have made me the next thing to a Pats hater, but I will try and be civil about this and simply wish both the P-Rats and Manning Lite both lose in two week!

Heh. Yeah...a lot of fans are over the top - though you might notice that I have not even once disparaged your advocacy for the Cowboys - though I may well have dissented with your assessment of the outcome of specific games.

I'm actually more annoyed by the expressed lack of logic than anything. It's Dubai Port World all over again...without the world-affecting ramifications.

Despite the assumptions that have been made about me - I'm not a very good fan. I like multiple teams, and choose some for downright silly reasons - like their fulfillment of numerical patterns.

I much prefer analysis to fandom.

Well, "How I Met Your Mother" is about to begin. It is one of my guilty pleasures.

And I can assure you... young and sexy Alyson Hannigan and Cobie Smulders being in the cast has nothing to do with me watching it.

Well, lep, I think... a good, healthy dose of epson salt might cure you! It couldn't hurt.

And ya know "Don't ask... don't tell" is still in effect.

And no playoffs while they were winning all of those WS. Since they started to have to play in the post season their numbers have gone way down.

Deflections only effect pass interference, not roughing the passer. I’ve never figured out why if you hit the ball on a kick they wave the roughing rule, I suppose they figure that once you get kicked in the gut/ face/ where ever (which is basically what happen when you block a kick) you deserve to be able to hit the guy back. But on passes it only matters if it gets intercepted, at which point the QB is now a defensive player and available to be “blocked” (as Warren Sapp has demonstrated many times).

Everyone has been doing it for years. They decided to make an example of the Pats.

if the rule had been enforced all along, this wouldnt have been an issue.

I guess they will just have to go 18-0 next year too, just to prove that they are better than everyone else.

Was Hayley Mills in a movie called “Bedknobs and Broomsticks”?

Disney was sure great back then and I haven’t given up on them and occassionally, they still make movies I like like the football movie “Invincible” and “Snowprincess” is another good one if that one is made by Disney. The movie about the Jamaican bobsledders with John Candy was fine called “Cool Runnings” and many people like the “Victory on ice” movie about Team USA defeating the Russians in ‘80 or ‘82. Good story but the movie did not do a lot for me because I thought it lacked emotion.

You're right about the Yorks. Hell, it's not really John's money but he's running the damn team.

They now want Santa Clara do build them a new stadium. They said that if the South Bay doesn't build it then the Niners are virtually sure to leave.

I would be willing to let them leave so long as the team name and logo stay in SF (the "Cleveland Rule"). Then we could bring in new owners and build a quality franchise again.

I’m with you on this. If the Yorks wish to move that franchise to another state, fine with me as long as the 49er name and logo stays put. Or, better yet, sell the team and leave our state.

Why the hell don't the Niners build their own stadium?

Even the female haircutter said she didn’t watch football but did watch the Chargers at Patriots game and said how everyone wanted the Pats to lose.

So, I’m not rooting for the Pats, but maybe I’ll just sit back a bit more, never one to follow the crowd.

BTW, I did like the Pats some in past years, I had old football cards.
