Howard Stern endorses Ron Paul Congressman gets profanity-laced atta-boy from Sirius shock jock
Worldnet Daily ^ | 1-7-08

Posted on 01/07/2008 6:43:06 PM PST by SJackson

Sirius satellite radio shock jock Howard Stern gave an enthusiastic thumbs-up to GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul on his program today, saying the maverick congressman is "fantastic."

"I've got to tell you about this guy Ron Paul," Stern said on his show. "This guy – he's a Republican – and he says listen, when I become president, I'm taking us out of Iraq, I'm taking us out of everywhere in the world. …

"What good has it done us being in these f---ing Middle Eastern countries?"

Still paraphrasing Paul, Stern said: "I'm not an isolationist. I'm not afraid to use the military where it's needed. But to sit in these extended f---ing wars, draining the economy – and if we stay or we leave, the same g--d--- thing happens: nothing! So let's leave."

Continued the radio host: "People love this guy when he talks. He makes sense."

I would think an endorsement from the 1988 Libertarian Senate candidate would be a major positive for the Paul campaign.

That’s funny. I used to listen to HS for 15 years. I remember him liking Rudy Giulianni. I guess not anymore, huh?

I would think an endorsement from the 1988 Libertarian Senate candidate would be a major positive for the Paul campaign.

Actually, he was the Libertarian candidate for NY governor, not Senate. And I'm pretty sure it was later than 1988.

Anyway, I've listened to Stern for a long time (since around 1986). He's a "libertarian" like Bill Maher claims to be - what I call a "liberaltarian". They are both liberal Democrats who don't have the guts to call themselves liberal Democrats (or commit to being liberal Democrats).

Stern used to be fairly conservative back in the late 80's and early 90's. Now he's full blown limousine liberal. He's not really even for the death penalty any more - one of the things he advocated in his farsical run for governor.

He was fully for the war in Iraq for about the first year - then switched sides - something someone with no responsibility can do I suppose.

I still listen, but switch him off when the talk politics. He and Robin and the gang talk out of their a**es when it comes to politics.

I also thought I read somewhere that he was backing Rudi G. Well, I’m not really surprised that he’s come out for RP now.

He says he still likes Rudy, but not for President. He'll be for whoever the Democrat candidate is in the general election. Stern is full blown limousine liberal now.

You're right, Governor.

Years since I've heard him, as a political commentator, not much I remember. From what I remember Robin had a good sense of humor, I didn't like Stern.

Robin is just as liberal as Stern is now, although the gang generally just follows along with what ever Stern is into.

Robin is very anti-Iraq war - she always throws in at least one anti-Iraq war or anti-Bush story into her news selection every day, almost without fail.

If you turn him off when he talks politics, you must listen for the profanity, then.

There's not much content left minus that except for hot air and narcissism.

Excuse me but why is this news? Stern's endorsement of Paul doesn't mean a thing except he wants to enjoy his freedom and liberty.

Now I suppose you're going to use your Kevin Bacon powers and try to link Paul with Stern somehow. Perhaps he was on his show with Jenna Jameson? Who knows what you'll find in that trash can of yours, right?

Stern has quite a number of listeners (I’m one)... Many of them are weak-willed and will follow “King” Howie in his misguided choices.

He’s crude, often funny, and doesn’t know beans about politics.
