Atlanta College Students to Reopen Chandra Levy Investigation
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | January 1, 2007

Posted on 01/01/2008 1:08:40 PM PST by RooRoobird20

A group of criminal justice students at a small Atlanta college are preparing to launch their own investigation into the 2001 disappearance and slaying of Modesto resident Chandra Levy in Washington, D.C. Since 2005, students at Bauder College have sifted through old evidence and case files from unsolved crimes as part of the school's Cold Case Investigative Research Institute, according to institute director Sheryl McCollum. This year, Levy's homicide and the disappearance three years ago of Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway in Aruba are on their agenda.

The only thing that took the spotlight off Gary Condit was (unfortunately) the 9/11 terrorist attacks. I’ll bet Condit was one happy camper when the Twin Towers came down. :(

Can we get them to reopen the Mary Jo Kopechne murder investigation, too? I think the reason Ted Kennedy drinks so much is to block out the vision of being greeted on his death by Mary Jo, and a host of angels denying him access to heaven.

You’re right, of course. But who knows what juicy evidence they might turn up to pass off to LE. I expect some media coverage of this, and Condit’s not going to be happy.

The only unanswered questions regarding that crime are: exactly who was paid exactly how much in order to save Ted from going to jail.

Well, they can't do any worse than the total morons in the D.C. Police Department. They could not find her body; some guys dog did, and they still do not know how she died.

If you said termites, your guessisas good as anyone elses.

As much as you and I and God knows how many others would love to see this happen, it just ain't gonna happen....teddy will get his due when he meets the Lord, MaryJo has been sitting up there with HIM for years now and fat teddy has done nothing publically to repent for his sin...so, upon his death, he will pay dearly, hell is gonna get a lot hotter when he arrives there!

Best Chandra Levy-case related line comes form Alan Colmes (who, while liberal, is occasionally funny.) He and Sean were going to a break and he said, “Excuse me if I’m no back for teh next segment, Sean. I have to throw something away so I have to drive to New Jersey.”

I have grown used to the kind of corruption that will keep a guy like Kennedy out of jail for a crime like this, "involuntary manslaughter." But I will never, ever understand how he could have been returned to office. And why is not openly ridiculed on the floor of the Senate and reminded there of his cowardice and hypocrisy every time he attempts to open his mouth.

I think her disappearance and slaying was a warning to Condit from men more powerful than he was. His double life was a national security liability considering his position on the intelligence committee, led by Porter Goss, now CIA director.
Was Goss tired of protecting him, (please don’t tell me he was unaware - that should be an eternal disqualification for his position) or did Condit’s blackmailable behavior bear fruit with international spies?

I watch (too many) “American Justice” and “New Detectives” shows—it’s amazing to me how many murders go unsolved.

I don’t think there’s an elaborate conspiracy behind Chandra’s death. Probably just a small sleazy conspiracy, with Condit paying a cheap B-rate hit man.

No doubt Condit was one of the few with mixed emotions on 911.

During the Condit imbroglio was the last period I watched The Dan at SeeBs with any regularity. He avoided the subject entirely almost until 911. When he finally gave a whitewash pimp piece he described Condit as "conservative" several times in his 30 second coverage. What a liar, what a leftist. Good riddance to a coward.

Valerie...hon...some smelling salts for you.

It’s Occam’s Razor here.

Gary Condit killed Chandra Levy.

Gary Condit was a congress critter. The movements of congress critters are generally tracked, at least better than yon average fellow. And Condit had been around a long time.

Yet NO ONE can pinpoint just where Gary was the day Chandra disappeared.

He was supposed to be having a meeting here; he was meeting up with so and so there. Yet....nobody covers the guy. There’s a gap in his timelines, if memory serves me right...of over an hour and a half.

Plenty of time to meet up with Chandra, kill her, then hide her body in some brush.

Gary Condit is possibly the only man in America who benefitted from the attacks of 9/11/01.

Please. The CIA did NOT kill Chandra.

Condit killed Chandra and it’s a credit to his contituency that they voted him out. It might his only punishment for Chandra’s murder but he did it, make no mistake.

Actually, I recall a very similar student project that turned up sufficient info to get a death penalty overturned and the wrongly-convicted man released from prison. Chicago, I think. Not a parallel scenario, to be sure, but I wouldn't underestimate the students' ability to resurrect some things that too many beltway types were happy to leave buried.

Most of the freepers haven't a clue about Washington D.C. and sex.

I have been in the media, played country music on the road with major stars, worked in politics and played with a number of Rock Stars.

Most people would bet that the Rock Stars get the most sex offered to them. But that is not the case. It is not country music, although that is pretty good. The place to get tons of sex is to be an a Senator or Congressman in Washington D.C. Come to think of it influential staffers never do without.

Tons of young females show up as interns and ambitious staffers. And nearly all will offer a member of Congress Sex in return for help on the way up. They will go down for help on their way up.

In Condit's case as in Clinton's his wife knew all about it. In Clinton's case Hillary wanted it kept quiet, but in Condits wifes' case she did not even live with him in D.C.

No matter what the girls family thought, She was just anther female to be used by Condit as he had dozens of others.

The interesting thing to me .. was the intellectual quality of the Washington Groupies. The country and Rock and Roll groupies are very available but not all that good at what they do. But the Washington type are quite bright and are very very very good at what they do.

The thing that blew my mind was how many very attractive females have done Henry Kissinger. Yes I said Henry Kissinger.

Of course the guys that do the best with groupies are the male TV anchors. The young gals that want a career in Radio and TV tend to be pretty and sexy looking. Some are a lot more sexy than the Fox News Babes. And they are even more adept at earning their future on their backs and on their knees.. Even more so than the political groupies.

There was the speculation about going to Dan Rather. If she had told Rather she had some dirt on Condit and then told Rather she had sex multiple times with Condit and produced pictures of them in the act. Rather would have replied, "I think that gives you credibility. You obviously have been intimate with Condit... but what did Condit do that was wrong or scandalous."

Condit had been with Levy many times before she disappeared, yet I doubt those dates are well-documented either - not unless Porter Goss was good at his job as chairman of the House intel committee, which I doubt, but will leave open the possibility.

The man apparently had a need to be places at times no one else knew about. A habit like that is convenient for more dangerous activities than mere extra-marital affairs or crimes of passion. I contend his disloyalty extended far beyond the reaches of family, friends and duty; he betrayed his country, too. That’s the real danger of powerful men with secret info leading double lives.

This is also why I think the Bill Clinton/ Denise Rich affair and the Marc Rich pardon needs further examination. Messing around with Levys and Lewinskis is a sign of disloyalty and compromised national security
