Future welfare queen. No morals, ethics or brains.

Or respect...Jesus was face down on the floor ! Without even a pillow ! That's low !

If it was up to me to pass sentence, she would have to stand before the congregation and apologize and then I would “sentence” her to attend mandatory RCIA classes.

I think it has something to do with the value of the stolen property.

This matter just shouts out for a creative intervention sentence so they DON't actually have a criminal record but have a lesson which improves the content of their character. In other words, a lesson that is educational rather than punative.

Perhaps being required to help clean up the scene, or something related to community service.

Often the demarcation between misdemeanor larceny and felony larceny is $1k.

He does soud like he's no good, and it does sound as if it was at the very least, a bad influence on her. I would think that, the actual "Jesus" could forgive him too.

But then, what the heck do I know?

...wait a minute....just think...the girl said was said to be "crying at the station", and having confessed, "I stole Jesus". Many do worse than that with Him, on a daily basis, without even realizing it...

I do hope that the Lord will use this for the good, for her, and her life.
Let's not forgot to pray also, for that errant Fernando.

Perhaps you are correct, but I can't tell that much about her, from just this scanty news article, and a photo.

Two years ago our baby Jesus was stolen from our parish manger scene. It was returned a couple of weeks later.

This year, we secured it with an inconspicuous steel cable. It’s still there.
