Gore's, Talbott's Red Russian roots
How they 'Hammer'-ed out Washington-Moscow policy
Posted: October 3, 2000

Loutchansky's name surfaced again last year, when the Washington Post revealed that first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton's two brothers, Tony Rodham and Hugh Rodham, were involved in a $118 million scheme to grow and export hazelnuts in the former Soviet republic of Georgia. Their partner in the venture was Aslan Abashidze, who said his financial adviser was Loutchansky. Abashidze is a reputed member of a Russian organized crime family.

The Rodham brothers at first balked and then agreed to national security adviser Sandy Berger's request that they terminate their venture.

The hazelnut imbroglio wasn't the only time Tony Rodham was involved with people accused of having links with Russian criminals. While working as a consultant for a Florida hotel company hoping to do business with Russia, Rodham set up a meeting with Bill Clinton and Moscow's powerful Mayor Yuri Luzhkov in April of 1997. Luzhkov had been linked in the Russian press to mob figures, and had been involved in a bitter dispute with an American businessmen who was subsequently found murdered in Moscow.

Personally, I think the ‘child support’ is the vehicle to transfer money to Boxer without it being questioned.

Hazelnut Flap Is Building
White House Disavows Clinton In-Law’s Foreign Dealings
Washington Post
January 1, 2000
Author: John F. Harris; Washington Post Staff Writer

The Clinton administration sent word this week to the government of the former Soviet republic of Georgia disavowing a controversial business venture being pursued by Tony Rodham, the brother of first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton, and urging officials there not to let the issue drive a wedge in relations with the United States.
A National Security Council official, acting on behalf of national security adviser Samuel R. “Sandy” Berger, called the Georgian Embassy here on Tuesday to emphasize that President Clinton was opposed to his brother-in-law’s involvement in a plan to export hazelnuts from Georgia but that his requests that Rodham drop the business were not followed, according to NSC spokesman James Fallin.

Rodham’s hazelnut venture—which he once said he was dropping but has since revived—has caused political problems for Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze, a staunch U.S. ally. This is because the first lady’s brother has been closely linked with one of Shevardnadze’s chief rivals.

Regarding Tony and the failure to pay child support.

As part of the extended family, Hillary is part of the village responsible for raising the Rodham/Boxer spawn. Even though Hillary has expounded on how it takes a village, she abbrogates the responsibility when her own family is the village.

This is the worst hypocrisy. Do as I say, but I’ll do as I please....especialy when my money is involved.

GreenTech, shortly after its founding, partnered with Gulf Coast Funds Management — run by Anthony Rodham, Hillary Clinton's brother — to recruit EB-5 investors. (Today, Rodham runs the GreenTech EB-5 operation, and the two companies share offices in McLean, Va.) Between 2009 and 2012, EB-5 visas helped GreenTech raise $67 million from over 100 foreign investors. Gulf Coast collected more than $7 million of its own during that time, suggesting a massive "visas for sale" scheme. By early 2013, at least 31 Chinese had received green cards through the McAuliffe/Rodham EB-5 operation. (Keep in mind that, in China, there's no real distinction between the Communist Party, the government and the business elite.)

Gulf Coast attempted to acquire an EB-5 visa for a Chinese telecom executive linked to the Chinese government. Zhenjun Zhang, the Huwaei Technologies executive who coordinated with Gulf Coast, was accused by former CIA Director Michael Hayden of "providing sensitive information about foreign communication systems to Beijing," according to one report. Yet Gulf Coast still made a pay-for-visa deal.

One possible explanation: Foreign nationals with green cards can contribute to elections, thanks to a loophole that McAuliffe is currently exploiting to excuse monies he (and the Clinton Foundation) received from Chinese billionaire Wang Wenliang.

Coincidentally, Gulf Coast's Rodham is the godfather of the grandson of Aslan Abashidze, a former official in the former Soviet nation of Georgia, who partnered with Rodham in a deal to export hazelnuts. Abashidze was removed from office in 2004, thanks to public protests stemming from his conviction for stealing $57 million in government funds. Abashidze was also accused of murdering a former deputy.
