How in the heck do you measure sea level to a degree of accuracy sufficient to resolve an annual increase on the order of one millimeter?

Looks like in those lower charts they have removed any data prior to 1961. Also, I remember reading recently that the way in which they compute the annual temp averages was changed after the revelation by pajamahedeen that 1998 was not the warmest year on record.

As 1998 disappears over the rearward event horizon, the alarmists will find their row tougher to hoe.

In the history of earth, 100 years is absolutely nothing. This is so ridiculous.
To: blam
How does this square with NASA saying the warmest is 1934?

There used to be a mile of ice over New York. It seems to me global warming is far less a threat to humans than global cooling would be.

Other remarkable global climatic events recorded so far in 2007 include record-low Arctic sea ice extent, which led to first recorded opening of the Canadian Northwest Passage
And the all time freezing record since this summer.

In reference to the chart in #9 above by xcamel, it appears we could freeze over any time and may be overdue.

What happened to the re-calculation a few months back that made 1934 the warmest year in the last century? That was for the U.S. only.
World-wide, we don't have anything approaching the measurements neccessary for a global calculation before WWII. See Climate Audit's "Where's Waldo" series of threads for examples of where the warming signal ISN'T - and where we don't have credible measuring stations.

The snows of Kilamanjaro aren’t melting as much as evaporating without replenishment. It’s drying, not warming.

"Top 11 Warmest Years On Record Have All Been In Last 13 Years" Perhaps in the world but not in the USA. 7 of the 11 hottests years in the USA all occurred before the year 1955. See NASA graph and raw temperature data.

Shhhhhhhh!!!! You’re giving up the game! That little fact was tucked into the article in such a way that only a careful reader like yourself would glom onto the fact that the baseline is only 1850. Hence the headline “Warmest Years on Record” subliminally becomes “Warmest Years in Earth’s History” to the casual reader.

Also, I remember reading recently that the way in which they compute the annual temp averages was changed after the revelation by pajamahedeen that 1998 was not the warmest year on record. That was for NASA's GISS. This is the Hadley Centre, which uses completely unknown methods of calculation on unknown inputs.

This is a frikin’ joke of science! They are using a 30 year mean from 1961- 1990 to compare it to the last decade? THAT’S A COMPLETE JOKE!
