The faltering Hillary Clinton campaign
International Herald Tribune ^ | 12/9/07 | Albert Hunt

Posted on 12/09/2007 9:11:05 AM PST by LdSentinal

To appreciate Hillary Clinton's fundamental political problem, consider the 11 Democrats from Philadelphia who gathered last week to discuss the U.S. presidential race, almost all of whom would vote for her in a general election.

The focus group was moderated by an expert on such forums, the Democratic pollster Peter Hart. The participants were informed and enthusiastic about their party's prospects, had no interest in the Republicans or third-party candidates and were about equally balanced between the front-runners, Clinton and Senator Barack Obama of Illinois.

When Hart pushed the group during a two-hour conversation about the strengths and weaknesses of the two candidates, a different picture emerged.

Obama, they worried, can't win the nomination; voters aren't ready for an African-American president (a point expressed most directly by the two black women participants), and he may not be sufficiently experienced.

A couple of victories in Iowa and New Hampshire would cure most of those problems.

Those are a lot tougher to overcome.

It was revealing, too, when Hart pushed them to envision these senators as leaders of the country or, as he put it, their "boss." Obama, they say, would be inspirational, motivating, charismatic and compassionate. After praising Clinton's experience and intelligence, they say she would be demanding, difficult, maybe even a little scary.

Candor and authenticity were repeatedly cited. "I don't feel like I look at her and see someone who's telling me the whole truth," said Allison Lowrey, a 30-year-old human resources consultant from Philadelphia. "I'd like to see her approach a problem without the polls" helping her make a decision, said Andrew Alebergo, a 39-year-old tanning-salon operator.

Not surprising, the Klintonistas are media darlings in this country. The most failed (ok, Carter was worse) and scandalous presidency of the 20th century they still sing his praises. Baffling.

There’s still time for her to have her “scream” moment

more like a “screech”, though.

Her inability to lie convincing, when caught in a lie, will eventually catch the true Beast on tape that the media can’t ignore.

Bubba is a pathological liar

Hillary is a calculating one

Everybody knows one thing she's definitely lying about:

She pretends to love and admire her husband so she can get elected but actually despises him...

Hillary Clinton could overcome a lot of things but not her lack of human warmth and the perception she plays fast and loose with the truth.

FTA: And her campaign has a near-obsession with what it perceives as a hostile press. They were incensed by a story in The New York Times that reported skepticism about Hillary's contention that her proposal to overhaul health care would help a lot more people than the plan of her rival.

That she thinks that the Press is hostile to her is symptomatic of her paranoia and demand for complete control. If she gets elected, we will have censorship like we have never seen before. Talk radio would be the first to go.

There has been a change in Hillary when giving a speech. In the past, she sounded more like Hitler. Starting out soft spoken and reasonable. As her talks went on, she would get louder and louder and blamed everything on the President.....even though he isn’t running. I think her people have forced her to tone it down. One thing I see coming.....if Obama continues to get more and more popular, Hillary will blame her own people, start yelling and screaming at them. At that point, they will leave her in mass.

BJ Clinton’s baggage is a joke.

If I had one iota of artistic ability, I would have BJ on
his last day in office with one in tray with Chinese and
other money and two out trays.
One out tray with secrets and the other with pardons.

A packed suitcase behind him with Hillary sticking out
holding White House china.

Her inability to lie convincing, when caught in a lie...

Quite a little problem for a pathological liar, not to be a convincing liar that is.

One of Hillary's biggest problems is that she must conceal her most diabolical plans until after the presidential election. Thus, absolutely everything she campaigns on MUST be a lie.

(She can't come out and say she's going to do a full Hugo.)

Sometimes you even have to “click” an Al Hunt column to get some insights into the lunatic liberal mindset — that’s what this article does rather effectively, I suspect. It points to the Dems delicious dilemma: cast their lot with the inexperienced Obama (I loved Dick Armey’s very unpolitic conclusion: “He’s a joke!”) or go with the completely untrustworthy, calculating, divisive, and horrible person they know Hillary to be.

Way to go, Al! You’ve finally don’t some honest reporting. Put this down as a first!

What is going to be funny is watching Bubba try to distance himself from the campaign once it starts going downhill, and it becomes obvious she will lose the nomination.

I further predict that when that happens, a divorce will soon follow.

Shocking! This by is Al Hunt? (But note it’s in the Paris newspaper, or is it London?)

Another interesting part is that these “concerns” of Hitlery’s supporters are not likely to melt away with clever advertising, as, say, concerns about Obama’s lack of experience could do, because they are about the very core of the problem the RATs and everybody else in the world has with this woman.

Hitlery must never, but never be elected to the presidency. Such an event would signal the end of the Republic and usher in tax heavy socialism big time. Everything conservatives stand for and vote for would be destroyed by the Clinton twosome. I cannot imagine anyone worse than those two ghastly people in power again!

Listen here: Hillary Cackle

She cackled when the Money Honey asked her some tough questions:

RUSH: Let's go to the audiotapes, Mrs. Clinton on CNBC yesterday afternoon with the Money Honey. That would be Maria Bartiromo, who said, "Where was Congress during all this?" This is about the mortgage crisis. "Where was Congress during all this? We had a lot of nonbanks on the scheme with crazy proposals, no documentation, no interest for several months. Did Congress understand what is going on here?"

HILLARY: No. And under the Republican Congress, they didn't want to understand, you know, the ostrich head was in the sand. You didn't have an administration who paid attention to the early warning signals, you didn't have a Congress that cared about it. And the net result is, as I say, everybody shares the responsibility. If something is too good to be true, it is too good to be true.

RUSH: You were in the Congress! What were you, a bystander? She can't do anything right. (cont.)

Mort Kondracke and Fred Barnes were agreed that Hillary is in trouble, in their discussion on The Beltway Boys Saturday afternoon. But for Al Hunt, former conduit for the White House talking points during the Clinton administration, to be so negative about Hillary is surprising.

It would be nice to be optimistic but it's too early to think the Hildabeast has been mortally wounded. The media occasionally will have a couple of weeks of dumping on the Clintons (like after the pardons in 2001), only to re-form as a phalanx to defend the Clintons against all attacks, and that may happen again. Mainly they want to ensure a Democrat victory in 2008--so if Hillary can make Obama and Edwards seem unviable, then she will become their favored candidate, even if they don't like her much as a person.

No experience for both. Has nothing to do with Obama being black. Besides he is not completely black; he is white too. No experience being being a leader; way to young; has been involved in Chicago politics. Seems to have some baggage regarding a house and/or land he bought for a song through a favor. Raised in Muslim faith. Father was a Muslim.

We all know about Hillary. No experience, crook, liar, thief, protector of rapist husband. Has nothing to so with being a woman.

Watch their people try to fix these problems.

Hillary is as phony as a three-dollar bill...and people seem to be catching on to some basic facts:

(1) Her cackle is used to allow her to seem human, to show us she can laugh, but it frightens children...and not just at Halloween.

(2) She doesn't care about people...she claims we have all these problems that are the result of "this administration" when, in fact, Congress is the legislative part of our government. The president can do little about health care financing unless Congress authorizes money to do so or authorizes a "program" requiring people to purchase basic health insurance.

(3) She is the female version of Vladimir Lenin, that is, she wants to ascend to power so she can implement her far, loony-left socialist-communist agenda.

(4) People are comparing her with the other dwarfs and are finding that even Kucinich is "likable" but her likability factor is ZERO.

(5) She is unable to work a gathering of more than about ten select people. You won't find her in diners in New Hampshire unless the patrons of the diner are ALL left-wing, card-carrying Democrats.

(6) People see her shills asking questions for exactly what it is--a dirty-trick worse than ANYTHING Dick Nixon ever did--and rightly blame her for being a conniving ferret.

(7) They see her people floating a paper Obama wrote in the second or third grade about how he wanted to be President some day--what kid in second or third grade did not pick one of the handful of occupations (fireman, policeman, doctor, President, etc.) from a list given to them by the teacher to write their mini-essay (It's a rare child who does NOT picture himself or herself in each occupation he or she learns exists.) as being very UNPRESIDENTIAL. In fact, such junior high school students would likely be offended by such a tactic for home room representitive on the student council.

Simply stated, Hillary Clinton is Hillary Clinton's own worst enemy. Her unfavorable rating is at or above 50%. Stick a fork into that turkey (or is it ham?) to see if she is done.

No, because it is too short and not really prominent like Howie’s scream. I’d guess she’d be undone, graphically, with a inadvertant swear word or a swipe at someone, something uncontrollable like when she runs into a really tough jam during a debate and she’s standing there without a net.
