The Canadian Governor of Michigan is a shoe in for a cabinet position under President Hildabeast.
To: Westlander
That scumbag Granholm is a documented liar.
To: Westlander
To wit:
The Granholm administration still is asking for fee increases to help fund the state departments of Natural Resources and Environmental Quality. Lawmakers have agreed to take up the proposals next month.
To: Lancey Howard
Oh dont you know the difference between a fee and a tax????

she's not ever going to raise taxes again to deal with any budget shortfalls. LOL! Short of voting her out of office, there is NO way a liberal can keep that one.

Oh dont you know the difference between a fee and a tax???? Yes, fees can be raised at the drop of a hat, and are the main vehicle used to get around a tax freeze.

Taxes are monies confiscated out of my wallet by scumbag government, whereas fees are monies confiscated out of my wallet by scumbag government.

That’s mighty white of her.

Not true. Next week, she'll propose another tax increase, but because she wants to increase spending--not because she wants to reduce budget shortfalls.
To: Westlander
I get a kick out of the “Come to Michigan to do business” ads. Every time I see one, I wonder, how many companies really want to move to Michigan so they can be taxed to death. Hasn’t she pretty well killed the state?

I think she’s trying to empty Michigan for a possible Canadian takeover.
To: InvisibleChurch
I wish she would......
If taxes keep going up here I would be able to buy my neighbors land cheaper because they are already so screwed up from her policies. A true mark of FAILURE for a governor is when the FEDS lock subprime loans and the borrowers still default on the mortgage because they dont even have a job. Jennie has been a dismal failure.

It shows how completely clueless they are. Like I’m going to move my business to Michigan because some liberal celebrity says it’s a good thing. How dumb can you be?
To: Westlander
Wouldn’t it be great if Hillary nominated her for VP?
To: Brilliant
"Wouldnt it be great if Hillary nominated her for VP?" You can't have a VP that was born in a foreign country.

Same here. I am really curious to know how sucessful the ad campaign has been. Personally, if I were moving a business Michigan would be one of the last places on my list. Detroit area, too much crime. Overall, high energy costs.

Ah, dang that’s right... Maybe it would be a good idea to amend the Constitution afterall. Only the Dems would be stupid enough to nominate a Canadian for President.

You have to be qualified to be president to be VP (12th Amendment), but not to have the other jobs that put you in line (like Speaker)—they would just skip over you. That’s why Albright and Kissinger were OK to be Sec’y of State (fourth in line).

What a bunch of BS. Of course she's going to raise taxes again. What's the alternative? Cut government? Please. Cuts (smaller than forecast increases) were made this year. I'm sure there will be more "cuts" next year. How do you think she is going to pay for them?

I didn’t think so...
But she can always get Jeff Daniels to go out there and prostitute his credibility to try and boost her failing state.

Take it from a Michigander - the state is sinking faster than the Titanic. Granholm is extremely unpopular and for good reason.

I'm not sure about that, Sec'y of State being fourth in line. I think the entire line is from the legislature.

She may not tax us, buy hey the legislator is doing some really important work like stopping smoking in restaurants (sarcasm off)....
Beam me up Scotty there is not intelligent life left in Michigan.....
The Detroit News and Free Press Sunday Edition had 6, I repeat 6 sections of the newspaper dedicated to foreclosures in Wayne County.
She keeps pumping alternative energy (i.e. unions jobs) as the next growth area, while the Canadians from the shore, are sideways drilling under Lake Erie and getting Natural Gas and we can't drill in the Great Lakes.
Now for some inside skinny...
I have been taking to some real-estate appraisers, the latest fiasco, On foreclosed properties, as people leave someone is coming in or the former owner is taking the hot water heaters and furnaces and are reselling them. It gets worse for the banks. In some occasions,, there is a lag time between when the back takes the property and the former owner leaves. If they do not shut the heating or water system down properly, pipe can break and cause thousands of dollars in damage.
Combine the Michigan entitlement mentality with unbridled spending and these non traditional home loans, we have a real-estate disaster on our hands.
The way I see it, even if we get a Republican Governor post Jenny and he or she take 18 months to 24 months to fix things, we still are looking at 5 years of economic downturn at worse to flatness at best.
To: Westlander
"Governor Jennifer Granholm says the most important thing she learned this year is she's not ever going to raise taxes again to deal with any budget shortfalls."Ok, fair enough. Now since that was totally counter-productive,,,,
why doesn't she propose a big TAX CUT???
