KGO night-time talk show host Bernie Ward was indicted in Federal Court today on two counts of child pornography using the Internet. Ward’s attorney says the incidents are from more than four years ago and were a part of research for a book.

KGO’s Operations Director Jack Swanson says, “Bernie Ward has been a valued, long-time employee of KGO Radio. We were just recently made aware of these serious charges and are surprised and concerned by their nature. As the matter is currently pending in federal court, we will have no additional comment at this time. A substitute host will do the 10pm – 1am, Monday – Friday broadcast and the Sunday morning Godtalk broadcast

It's funny you say that, Chief. I've been leery of that word, and people who identify themselves by it, oh...since high school!

At least in my neck of the woods, the term "progressive" in the late '80s/early '90s described a certain subculture of goths, skaters, punks, neo-beatniks, etal. as well as the crappy "alternative" music they listened to. "Progressive" described the music genre, modes of dress, attitudes, and in time it came to also encompass their anti-conservative, anti-normal, social and political worldview.

I, as a Reagan-loving, argyle-clad preppy type kid in those days, developed a deep aversion to "progressive"ness and everything the term stood for! I won't even buy insurance from the Progressive company—which it turns out, is also run by a far-Left libertine wacko.
