SACRAMENTO - As an international movie star and bodybuilding champion, Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is clearly one of a kind.
Yet throughout his tenure as governor his actions have seemed to channel past governors.
In 2005, Schwarzenegger, with his unsuccessful push for partisan ballot measures, seemed to follow the aggressive, in-your-face approach of former Republican Gov. Pete Wilson.
In 2006, Schwarzenegger's emphasis on rebuilding the state's schools, highways and levees recalled the huge building push in the 1960s of former Democratic Gov. Pat Brown.
This year, Schwarzenegger has acted much like former Republican Gov. Earl Warren. Both men made a special effort to appeal to Democrats and to take on the huge problem of providing health insurance for all.
Schwarzenegger, on Wednesday night, got a chance to salute his latest role model at Warren's induction into the California Hall of Fame. Schwarzenegger called Warren a "special inspiration."
Warren, who later became Chief Justice of the United States, was a "proud Republican, but more than anything, he was a great servant to his people," Schwarzenegger said.
"He was a visionary and a builder and he was so popular that in fact in 1946, he was nominated for governor by both the Democratic and Republican party," Schwarzenegger said.
For his part, Schwarznegger seeks to be just as popular as Warren, but he would like to be different from Warren in one critical way. In the 1940s Warren failed to pass his universal health insurance plan. In the next few weeks, Schwarzenegger still hopes he can agree with Democrats on an ambitious proposal to cover the state's 6.5 million uninsured.

So this whole dealy-bob where Schwarznegger is Governor of California:
Is this actually, really happening, or does it turn out that it is all just part of the virtual reality simulation that broke down while I was in the middle of it... ?

Oh yeah, that’s the guy who spearheaded the Japanese Internment during WWII. I’m not surprised in the least that liberals would look up to him.

For better than 30 someodd years from the mid 1950s on, when driving in to Dallas from the south on Highway 75, now I-45, just as you crossed the Trinity River area, there was a large sign hung in a very high tree that read "Impeach Earl Warren!

Those who work to defeat the Austrian's political aspirations over the next 3 years are my friends. They may include both Republicans and Democrats a like, as long as they labor to derail our European interloper.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Arnold wants to be popular. Not a good thing to be if you have to make unpopular decisions.

Didn’t they bury Warren on the grassy knoll?

Earl Warren, a political and judicial abomination of the highest order. No surprise the 8th most influential liberal in America, Ah-nold, is saluting him. To them both, I give them the middle-finger salute.

Eisenhower on Earl Warren: “The biggest damned fool mistake I ever made.”
Arnold on Earl Warren: “A proud Republican, but more than anything, he was a great servant to his people.”
Any questions?

Heck, even Arnold’s hero, Richard Nixon, despised Earl Warren (which is why he resigned when Nixon came to power). “Great servant” my foot.
