In January 2005, Hillary Clinton's "goon squad" at Media Matters for America came after me because I pointed out on a national television broadcast that the New York Democrat was "divorced from reality"(TM) for her statements asserting that Social Security was solvent for the long term and the economy "was on the verge of collapse." In "The Question" posed to President Bush that fateful day, I also noted that Sen. Harry Reid suffered the same separation from logic and fact.
On Monday, the Democratic Senate Majority Leader reconfirmed his disconnect from the world everyone else inhabits in making the statement: "The surge hasn't accomplished its goals... We're involved, still, in an intractable civil war."
Reid's pronouncement puts him at odds with the "Cowardly Whiner" John Murtha, who returned from a Thanksgiving visit to Iraq and said, "The surge is working." Democrats across the country and their Old Media amplifiers are also backing away from the dire rhetoric of defeat, shifting focus to a lack of political reconciliation or U. S. domestic issues.
However, Democratic Congressional leadership is mired in a quagmire of defeatism that renders it incapable of giving American troops the respect, admiration and gratitude they earned with blood and sacrifice. When the troops finish their mission and return home, Democrats may pay a heavy price for their efforts to secure defeat in Iraq. In the meantime, voters need to decide if they want to put Democrats in charge of national security.
My "planted" YouTube question for the next Democratic presidential debate: Do you think the United States is winnning in Iraq?
I stopped reading right there.
Not only that, but the jig is up with A.J. Feeley, so if D Mac isn’t ready to strap it up this weekend, you can look forward to another 4 pick performance. The kid flat out just can’t throw a five yard out without it wobbling like a wounded duck.
Reids a God Send for the GOP heading into next year.
You stopped reading because?
“Do you think the US is winning in Iraq”
I would love to see every one of them give a simple “yes” or “no” answer. I might as well wish for world peace!
Because that said all anyone really needs to know. The man is divorced from reality, anything more written about Reid is meaningless in the way one doesn’t stand around on a winter day and try to carry on a rational conversation with the local scruffy wino. Nothing against the author intended.
Understood. Interesting to note that the war that Democrats and the MSM gleefully hoped would split the GOP is becoming a plus for Bush and Company and a headache for the Dems. Imagine that, an American military victory that is a problem for a political party that gave us Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson and Harry Truman. Shame!
“Do you think the US is winning in Iraq”
“I would love to see every one of them give a simple yes or no answer. I might as well wish for world peace!”
Instead of the question above, I would much prefer the dems answer the question: “Do you WANT the US to win in Iraq?”
I would love to see that one too. Maybe we could get some “plants” in there to ask just that.
A good followup for sure!
Only if the republicans will use his sound bites. In the last election Reid, et al, had given the RNC hours of great statements but they didn't use a one. Hope the RNC has learned but since this is the Stupid Party I really doubt it.
Hello?
Ain't that the truth. I bet the 'fins are real glad they got rid of him when they did. Can you imagine what kind of record they'd have with him still around?
Oh, and Garcia's been a pretty good addition to the Bucs this year (Thanks, Andy); although kudo's for last weeks win has to go to Saints coach Sean Payton for calling a double reverse with time running out that blew up on em.
If nothing else I think the POTUS candidates will do so.
