TSA Screener Makes Soldiers Strip Down While Escorting Colleague's Body
Breitbart via KOMO Seattle ^ | Nov 30, 2007 | Ken Schram

Seattle commentator Ken Schram of KOMO: "How does some inept, insensitive idiot with the IQ of room temperature even get a TSA job? That TSA screener should have his [expletive] fired. And those soldiers deserve at least an apology."

“How does some inept, insensitive idiot with the IQ of room temperature even get a TSA job?”

Who do you think applies? No one in the top half of any class even applies for this job, what do you expect.

No one with a room temperature IQ applies for the job in the first place. We finally have the military working in Iraq to win the hearts and minds of the Iraqis. How about reforming TSA's policies to win the hearts and minds of the American public? Ooops - my bad - we just pay their salaries.

TSA is mostly make work jobs to keep potential thieves and frauds off of welfare.

This guy by saying and IQ of room temperature gives these folks way to much intelligence.

There was a TSA headwrap Muzzie at the SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI airport inspecting luggage about 6 months ago. Incredibly snotty to just about everyone, someone finally fired him for fudging his timecard.

I’ve been searched by rude Burka Babes at Dulles. I’ve been searched by Ethiopians and Libyans and Russians. The Russian was the only one that had a sense of humor and was polite. I would have loved to beat the others with a large stick.

I’d like a lot more details. This could be a well deserved hit job on TSA with little basis in fact. No dates, names, flight #s. Not even the fallen soldier’s name, which most certainly should have been included.

Good point. Best to verify. But once verified, I’d like some other info. Like that screener’s name and picture. That’s what I want. I cannot believe how angry this makes me.

Well, if he wants to make a real impression, he needs to call a news conference at which he would drag that screener by the ear to the podium, make him apologize, then fire him. Anything less is unacceptable.

I heard Norm Dicks was pissed. he was on KVI tonight with the commentators, Carlson and Schram.

4:00 TSA Soldiers
Schram and Carlson tackled the issue of what happened at SeaTac, in nutshell - a military escort transporting remains of a fellow solider was stopped by TSA and forced to disrobe despite the Port Police. Norm Dicks joined the show and shared in the outraged. The question that centered the topic, was A) Is this wrong, B) What should happen to the TSA worker

this part in the update really upsets me. I guess it's the part where they were told to put down the flag.

A uniformed police officer then accompanied them to the screening area where their combat medals and ribbons helped set off the metal detectors. They showed their military ID. The police officer showed his ID. Told to put down the American flag they were carrying, a TSA screener then had the soldiers strip to their tee shirts, pants and socks in full view of everyone in line.

It is not a hit piece. The Soldiers were escorting a casualty from Fort Lewis, Wa. It is big news here.

On mid-tour leave from Iraq in my desert uniform, I was stopped and searched in each airport I entered. Got to be a real drag. Despite my uniform, orders, rank and ID card, I guess I fit whatever profile they were looking to search.

Really frustrating...

Regards,

US Deaths remain low in November

BAGHDAD (AP) — November was on course to be the least deadly for American troops in Iraq since March 2006, with the U.S. military reporting its 35th death of the month Thursday.

Actually, the page you linked to reports 3 deaths in November, but AP reports 35. That's a big disconnect between the two.

The TSA should be relegated to the trash heap. I'm surprised that the soldiers didn't give the TSA monkey a single-finger salute!

OK, let's think about this for just a second.

You're working your thankless job that comes with a book an inch thick on procedure. You are tested every few months to make sure you follow that book to the letter. You see other people make exceptions to the rule and get fired or written up (which hurts any chance you may have for promotion).

Now here comes an official-looking group. You know that you and your fellow employees are randomly tested to make sure you follow the book. If you don't, you're fired and your face is plastered all over the news.

What do you do? If you let them through, you're fired. If you stop them and make them remove their dress jackets, the media screams "off with his head!!"

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

As far as TSA patting down old ladies: Did you know that they're trained that the Enemy is planning on using women with false-pregnant bellies and old ladies to get past security? (Which they probably are.) If I were TSA I'd ignore any official who tries to bypass security because the Enemy can get a hold of false documents and smuggle all sorts of nasties on board and aircraft. Think about it for just a second. Contrary to what we'd like to believe, most of these terrorists aren't stupid people. (Remember the doctors in the UK?) TSA screeners are in an impossible position. They're working for a thankless bureaucracy that doesn't know the meaning of "exceptions to the rule" and they have to be constantly wary of an enemy who's sole purpose in life is to get past them.

Do they do a lousy job? I don't know. How many planes have been blown up or flown into buildings in the last few years? Do you really care if they're nice about doing their jobs or do you care more that they get you to your destination in one piece?

BTW, my husband is a soldier. He's all *about* following the rules. I'll check with him tomorrow, but I'm sure he'd agree with me.

I salute you. I never served, grateful for people like you. If you get searched again, and you’re ready to roll your eyes, remember that many people do appreciate you. When you are fully dressed, I’m sure many folks just stare at you. I’m one of those folks, and what is going on in my head, is my appreciation for you, but the inability to walk up to folks like you, and tell you that.

I work near Ft Lewis and Mchord. I see folks like you all the time. God Bless you, and your fellow soldiers in the armed forces.

And... Really.... Thank you sir, for putting your life on the line so we can live in a country where we can find the truth, and right the wrongs.

It would be nice if this flared up like Lights on a Christmas Tree and put the TSA on notice.

QUIT STRIP SEARCHING 2 year olds, Nuns, and American Soldiers!

I agree.

It is not the people doing the searches that are the problem.

It is the PC RULES we are playing a LIFE AND DEATH game with.

It is not right.
It needs to be fixed.
Reward TSA screeners for actually culling out and disarming actual terrorists.
