Actually, the dollar versus the Mexican peso is pretty constant, despite the dollar’s decline against other currencies. It has traded between 10 and 11.2 pesos per USD for a long time. That will tell you the strength (or weakness of Mexico’s economy, even with its oil revenues).

My last order from NI is coming from either China or Hungary. If it’s equipment then it is Malaysia.

I think Spamalot is an open borders libertarian. I could be wrong.

When I was in Madrid last week, I actually ran into an Evangelical Christian group comprised almost entirely of Mexicans.

Deliciously ironic since Spain sent the conquistadors to Mexico with a legion of Catholic clerics for the sole purpose of Converting The Heathens. How the wheel comes around.

You must read this entire article. Several ‘migrants’ are quoted and they hate this country and us.

“But the United States is not the wonderful country that it was. The people are hypocritical and don’t value our sweat.”

I appreciate the ping back to this topic AuntB.

It has always been my opinion that rounding up illegal allien immigrants would not be necessary. In the end, if our laws were enforeced, illegals would return to Mexico on their own.

These reports may or may not be a predictor of things to come. Surely the illegals realize we aren’t building the wall, there are still sanctuary cities and churches, that schools and hospitals will still be there for them, and outside of a few show cases there won’t be any across the board enforcement of laws directed at businesses, rentals or social security numbers.

I guess that’s why I don’t even bother to read this stuff.

Build the wall. End free education and healthcare to illegals. Start prosecuting employers. Tighten up the validation of those who seek employment. Deport!

We’ll see how the numbers look in another five years. My guess is there will be fifteen to twenty million more here by then, and our leaders will once again wake up long enough to show shock, roll over and go back to sleep.

John (gated-community) McCain has never met an illegal alien who wasn’t nice to him, LOL.

McCain on illegal immigration from last night’s debate:

“And we need to sit down as Americans and recognize these are God’s children as well.”

(Applause)

“And they need some protection under the law. And they need some of our love and compassion.”

I hope that forces that be don’t take this data and use it as an excuss to discontinue the building of the wall.

The economy will pick back up and the illegals will return in great numbers.

“Thats called muddying the waters”

You continue to plumb new depths.

the article clearly stated the economic factor in the drop of illegals and YOU are the one that hijacked it for your own agenda.

I dont know who you are aand I dont care to. this is not your thread - it is everyones.

and dont try to shout me down...

“but not against the Peso”

If theyre currency traders, i doubt they would need to come to this country to wash dishes.
what does that have to do with anything? If I have to risk my life to sneak into the US, it makes a big difference if that dollar bought 2 bushels of corn vs 1.

If there is not a payoff commensurate with the risk, than more will decide to stay where they are and subsist.

There is irony in that. No doubt the Texas Ferengi appreciates it more than most.

“I could be wrong.”

Imagine that.

It doesn't take a lot of imagination. I am often wrong but you have yet to tell me that I am wrong on this particular accusation. Are you an open borders libertarian or not? I have only your "falling dollar" comment(which other posters showed was wrong) and your homepage to go on.

“Are you an open borders libertarian or not?”

I am a classic conservative and have been for 40 years.

I belonged to the YAF and wrote in Reagan in 72.

I am single issue voter and it is not related to the borders - it is related to the 2nd amendment.

....a trend that analysts on Tuesday attributed to a crackdown on illegal border crossers and raids at employment sites

Now, if we just ramp up the above-mentioned tactics and take the additional measure of cutting off the welfare freebies not only would those thinking of coming here illegally be even more hesitant to do so but we'd also see a mass exodus by those currently here back to their home countries. ...for good. That would be a success.

“I belonged to the YAF and wrote in Reagan in 72.”

Bit before my time. As far as YAF is concerned, I currently have a personally ordered bumper sticker on my car that says “Don’t Immanentize the Eschaton”. I think YAF started that as a slogan. I voted for Reagan just as soon as I turned 18 for his first successful bid for the presidency.

No, it's not working. It's merely being reported as "working" to sooth the objections. The Congress and the Executive mean to pack the country with Mexicans and that has not changed. Those whose goal this is have just changed tactics to quell the uproar.

They mean to do it and they will do it. The continuing bi-lingual labeling and saturation of language oriented response structures, like answering systems, is proceeding apace.

Don't be fooled.
