Senator Edward M. Kennedy, the most prominent surviving member of the Kennedy family, has agreed to sell his memoirs for an advance of more than $8 million, people with knowledge of the negotiations say.

I am sure there will be no complaints about Sen Kennedy making a haul ($8 million) on his book deal. After all he is not a Republican. Remember the stink over Newt Gingrich's book deal while he was Speaker of the House. He had to return the money... but even that was not enough to quell the rants from the Democrats... NEVER APPEASE A DEMOCRAT!!!

Maybe now would be a good time for Senator Kennedy to invest in some Carbon Credits. I have a few million dollars worth that he could buy to offset the additional harvested trees, fuel consumption, and electrical generation that his book deal will cause... /sarc

I doubt that Kennedy’s memoirs will be very interesting or insightful. So much has been written about the Kennedys that already that the only material Teddy could add would be the stuff he won’t want to publish. Instead, we’ll get a sugarcoated version of stories already told.

I bet Mary Jo Kopechne will be kept out of the memoirs. Just like Bubba did with his White House romp.

Yep the galleys show long stories about his brother's assassinations, but virtually nothing on Chappaquiddick or Joan Kennedy. Plus I'm sure some chapters on how bad republicans are and how he's for the little guy. Who the hell cares what this sleaze would write anyway? Not $8 million worth anyway.

I'm picturing Ted drinking scotch after scotch, recalling all the babes he perved on over the years in slurred speech to some hack ghostwriter, who mostly ignores him while trying to piece together a new memoir from old biographies and interviews.

I going to be very curious to find just how much of this tome will be truthful. Kennedy doesn’t have much of a reputation for truth OR good judgment.
Specifically, I wonder how he will recount the murder of the young lady who was riding in his car during that fateful bridge crossing.

Isn’t 8 million to a Kennedy like 10,000 dollars for us. They are extremely rich. I don’t even know why he would accept a check. His brother was a Saint next to his sleazy brother. He didn’t even accept a check as President.
