ABC: Accept Global Warming or Violate 'Moral Imperative'
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 11/18/2007 6:42:49 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

If you don't buy into a Goresque view of global warming, you're not just wrong -- you're immoral. That was ABC's implication this morning.

The notion came from Good Morning America co-anchor Bill Weir at the end of his interview of Jim Gooch. The Dem state representative from Kentucky recently had the audacity to hold hearings with witnesses who cast doubt on global warming theories.

Kill babies, sexualize children, keep poor people dependent, but if you believe that the earth is warming and we’re to blame, you’re moral. Good to know.

The Truth does not need to be force fed to people with gestapo tactics, They know it’s a lie, meant to justify taking liberty and prosperity from Americans. The rest of the world benefits at our expense.

Good heavens! Not believing the sky is falling is tantamount to being a conservative - what an awful if not sinful thing to be, a Non-Believer in Climate Change is caused by man, rather than a Believer in Mother Nature doing her thing.........

(Geoffrey Lean is excessive to a fault in this "Sky is Falling" almost comical report )

That little fat toad who has trouble wiping his ass in a stall is informing the world about scientific imperatives?

Fat little grubby politicians deserve to be arrested. They should be on trail, thrown in the stocks, and spat on.

That did nothing to assuage Weir's fury.
BILL WEIR [voice rising]: But according to all these scientists, the more hand-wringing we do, the more we dither on this, the worse it's going to get. And what if you're wrong? What if this in fact is a global catastrophe? Isn't it a moral imperative as a public servant to err on the side of planetary survival?

planetary survival?

Wow, you mean if we don't allow the government to fix the faux global warming the planet will cease to exist!!!

The more these retards mouth off the more people are going to start to ignore them

Yep!! The gloom and doomers are stepping it up a notch or two... In addition to the money, Hollywood and Gore have already made on their global warming films... could this company (and others) be piling on the pressure:

How many people know NBC, is owned by General Electric ,,,, the 2nd largest company in the WORLD!! Also G-E demanded all shows re write the scripts of every show they produce to include gloom and doom over Global Warming, Why would they do that you ask ,,,,. Because G-E has already invested 1.5 BILLION in new energy sources and most importantly Carbon Coupons that any Co. not up to date or in compliance with (as of yet) unwritten legislation, will be forced to purchase these coupons as like a fine. G-E will have a return of over 20 billion if this happens. What is keeping it from happening?? ,,,,, We the people are not scared enough yet to force the Senate to create the laws,,,,,,,,,,,, Do You Get the PICTURE ???

It's been my experience to ALWAYS follow the money when people like Gore start spouting off about an issue.

The proper response would have been, “If the science was clear on man made global warming, the politicians wouldn’t have to resort to McCarthyism and promote it as a ‘moral issue’.”

You knew it would reach this point. Environmental zealotry is virtually a religion, so why shouldn't it have all the hallmarks of one?

IF global warming is a "moral imperative", then it falls under the umbrella of the church. Since we all have to obey the separation of church and state dictum, politicians such as Algore and political bodies like the UN need to stay out of the fray. Let the church handle it.

The left has a funny way of politicizing moral issues (abortion) and casting political issues as moral (global warming) all in an effort to keep real values and morality out of the loop.

Global Warming is scam, a hoax. There's nothing immoral in exposing the hucksters who peddle us a bill of non-existent goods. There's no dire planetary crisis from an infinitesimal and normal change in the climate.

ABC: Accept Global Warming or Violate 'Moral Imperative'

Global War (ming) is not about science, morality, or saving the world for the hard core believers.

It is a Global War ON

.....Freedom

.....Capitalism

.....Mankind and his activity

.....the USA

.....God based religion

It is a Global War FOR

.....Communism

.....Socialism

.....UN (World) dominance over the USA

.....Mother Earth over Man

.....Earth Worship

There are many well meaning believers that do not realize what they are asking for and allowing to happen.

Climate change has, is, and will happen despite man. It is not the end of the world, mankind, or life as we know it. There is no reason to allow the types of totalitarian measures and confiscatory taxation the libs are promoting to come into law other than a desire for Communism and Socialism.

The proponents of radical action and debate suppression know that this issue and this time is the best opportunity they have to implement their radical environmental and socialist agenda. If real debate and reason are allowed to continue before they get law in place it will be too late. The people will realize the scam at hand and reject it. This is why they are so vocal and in such a hurry with scare tactics.

MY TV set consumes 100 watts of electrical power, as per this link:https://www.csun.edu/science/health/docs/tv&health.html

There are 250,000,000,000,000 hours of TV viewing...therefore there are 100 watts x 250,000,000,000,000 hours =25 Trillion watts of energy, or 25 Billion Kilowatt hours of energy wasted watching Television...Hence, I would recommend that the government decree that Television Stations, in the interest of Global Warming, be restricted to 6 hours per day...this action will surely reduce our carbon foot-print, by reducing our electrical energy requirements....

Yes, you made a mistake and owned up to it. I applaud you for that. The point I was making is that namecalling doesn’t help our cause. Liberals aren’t bad news because they’re fat or ugly or tall or short or beautiful or rich or poor or have large ankles or any of those things. Liberals are bad news because they subscribe to a dangerous philosphy of government. These kinds of personal attacks are no better than the insults leftists hurl at their political enemies. Seeing conservatives act like liberals always makes me cringe.

Thank you for owning up. Misreading a post has happened to almost all of over the years. :)

Ask a global warmer how well his own house is insulated. If one has super insulation in the R = 100 range around walls/ceilings/floors the heat required to keep warm(or cool in hot climates)drops dramatically. That means less coal fired power plants = less CO2 in the atmosphere. The ratio is about 3:1 or 3 BTUH dumped into the biosphere w/inefficient coal burning(thermodynamics)for every 1 BTUH delivered to the home. And insulation is the gift that keeps on giving, year after year after year...
