DUBAI: Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said that the United States is incapable of launching a military strike against Iran but would "regret" an attack if it carried one out.
"America is today incapable of staging a military strike against Iran for several reasons," Ahmadinejad told Dubai-based Al-Arabiya news channel in an interview, according to an Arabic voice-over of his remarks in Farsi.
The ground is not prepared for a strike in either economic, political or military terms, he said.
"And of course, they know full well that the Iranian people's response (to any attack) will be harsh, and they will regret it," Ahmadinejad said on Friday.
"In practice, then, they do not want to launch a strike against Iran. They are agitating and applying pressure on (UN) Security Council members in order to deceive and extricate themselves from the impasse in which they are," he added.
US Democratic lawmakers on Friday warned the Bush administration was "beating the drums for war" with Iran, and vowed to wield constitutional powers to thwart any military strike.
Their comments came as US President George W Bush fired off a fresh warning that international pressure would grow on the Islamic Republic, unless Tehran agreed to suspend enriching uranium.
Washington accuses Tehran of using its nuclear programme as cover for a drive to develop an atomic bomb, a charge Iran strongly denies, saying it only wants to generate electricity.

We could still bomb the shite out of them no ground war
It seems we've heard that bravado several times before.

It's hard to tell which is a worse threat to our security: Ahmanutjob or those moronic, traitorous dems in Congress.
President Ahmanutjob is funnier than Redd Foxx, Bill Hicks and Dice Clay rolled into one!! One MIRV’d Trident missile from one SSBN (Nuclear missile submarine) would destroy all so-called civilization in Persia in an instant. No aircraft required. This guy is an engineer?! What the heck?
the traitors in congress
As long as I live, I’ll never forget watching Baghdad Bob declare that no US forces were in the city while US armour was moving in the background.
Ahmadinejad prays toward mecca 5 times a day in hopes the US elects a dem for prez in ‘08. If so, he’s safe for at least another 4 years.
Most definitely, if Obama is office! He already took nukes off the table... BEFORE he welcomed “discussions”. BAH!
The domestic Left is a far greater threat to this country , more so than all the Islamos, Russia, N. korea and China combined. bottom line.
I guess I have to admit... Choosing between nuking Imagonnajihad and nuking Congress... Damn.
Good thing we have more than one, then.
But you're right, he was fun to watch.
imo we won’t nuke anybody. don’t have the guts, insight, or whatever it takes. as far as congress goes, we can’t even vote the #astards out or make the newly elected listen.
Remember the “Iraqi Information Minister” website? You could type statements and a virtal Baghdad Bob would utter words in faux Arabic and your writing would appear as a subtitle at the bottom of the screen. That was tons of fun.
LOL - that was funny.
And all those nuclear submarines off the coast are just full of blanks?
imo they aren’t, but who’s gonna push the button? give the order? no leadership, no army, no government. imo. now what?
U better have u’re bunker ready if u really wanna survive.
aren’t they the same thing?
And while Achminachoo is speaking the mike and lights suddenly go off as all the electrity in Iran is mysteriously cut off...
in our dreams

That Russian salesman looked so sincere.
Not sure I understand you however:
If George wont, hopefully Fred will. ;- )
Here's a link, Bomb Bin Laden Spoof
No we won’t nuke anybody, not first anyway.
But when Iran is actually on the verge of having a nuclear weapon, the calculus will change. God forbid, should there be a bright white flash over say... Tel Aviv... The calculus goes out the window.
Even with a stinking dem in the White House.
i hope george does the right thing.imo. i hope he still will go against the grain an deal with it. i hope he still intends to drain the swamp. i do think he’s had a republican congress for 4 years outta his 8. sorta
i dunno U tell me. are we gone or what?
I’d like to think so.
As far as havin nukes, wanna bet money they are way too close for comfort? Underground bunkers like u wouldn’t belive. imo, it’s here.
Just out of curiosity, are you posting via a handheld device?
Personally, I’m opposed to a war with Iran at this time.
But nutjob oughta keep his mouth shut. He’s beggin for a bunker buster with that kind of yack.
Do the Iranian people have a clue how fruit loops this dude is? I’m amazed he’s lasted as long as he has.
Israel has nukes. Are they not perfectly capable of defending themselves? Why must we get dragged into it?
Ahmanutjob:
We may have one hand tied behind our back with the congress and senate we have in place right now, but that doesn’t make us INCAPABLE of kicking your sorry little a$$!
yeah
They die.
Now I understand the all lower case input thanks. I dont own any of these fantastic communication devices. Mayhap someday.
Israel is capable of fighting its own battles. And masterfully so.
But we’ll be involved whether we like it or not. For example: if Iran strikes on Israel (nuclear or otherwise) then Israel will request, and get, flyover rights for Iraq in order to strike at Iran.
May as well provide some additional air support while we’re at it.
imo we won’t.
(Personally, I give us... one chance in three. More tea?)
A great line from The Hunt for Red October.
Somehow I don’t sense that the men in charge of our country now have nearly the cahones that Fred T’s, and J. Earl Jones’ characters, et al had in that movie..........or in that era, for that matter.
I can’t believe that Baghdad Bob ever thought he even resembled a tough guy! LOL.
Apparently Ahmadinejad has a secret weapon to deflect an incoming attack... flying carpets. ;-)
Well... I think Dubya has the stones.
With regard to who replaces him, we’ll just have to see. Fred would have the stones as would (gimme a break, people) Rudy.
But we won’t know what happens until it happens. Then we’ll know.
Iran will not be a push over.
Iran is large and well entrenched.
They have effective enough weaponry to cause damage to attackers.
They have some small nukes that ‘might’ work, they have on missiles ready to go.
They were finishing off some newer, more reliable bombs, and then “pooof”, the whole place disappeared.
Syria will join Iran, if it happens soon. Otherwise, Syria will back down.
Question really is, who else will join Iran in their stand?
The longer it goes on, the longer the rope Iran’s leader chooses to hang himself with. He’s the one that made all these predictions and declarations.
The Iranian people must help. Sharing knowledge is one way.
We have the ability to wreak more havoc on Iran than the apocalypse.
We have the ability.
Do we have the will?
Because we got everyone’s permission on the current battle, and yet it seems it’s being tied up in the courts.
That’s not a smart way to do business.
And it will not work will if we have to force Iran to ‘cooperate’.
That was a good one! Hadn’t seen it for quite some time. Did you see the one where everybody was singing “Kumbaya”? That was another really good one. I have no idea where to find it now.
Is my memory correct - that Baghdad Bob reported that the “Americans had been defeated in the desert, and at this instant our brave Iraqi soldiers are roasting the stomachs of the dead Americans for their meals”...
Also - I would hope that the scenario in Afghanistan and Iraq have taught us that the “culture” existing in Islamic states is such that GROUND TROOPS should NOT be sent in until AFTER the enemy has been throughly defeated by Air Attacks and is sueing for UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER...
NO MORE CEASE FIRES..
NO MORE OPPORTUNITY FOR CHEAP KILLS ON AMERICANS..
The cost of Jihad MUST go UP, WAY UP.....for THEM.
Agreed. The price has to be high enough that even the Jihadist don’t want to pay it.
