Our taxation system involves a really disgusting dynamic. It's basic stuff, really, but it bears repeating over and over again. Repetition is the mother of pedagogy.
A political party says to one group of Americans...
"You see that other group of Americans over there? If you vote for us, we will take money from them, by force, and give it to you."
And so, this party gets the votes of the first group, and sure enough, they take money from the other group and redistribute it.
But the other group keeps working hard and making more money, because it is in their nature. So the political party says to the first group...
"You see that other group over there? They continue to have more money than you. So, if you give us your votes, we will take more of their money away from them, by force, and give it to you."
And so they get the votes again, and take the money again, and the scenario replays itself over and over again.
Here's the cast list:
• The "party" — The Democratic Party
• The first group — The bottom 50% of taxpayers, who foot about 4% of America's "bill," coupled with people who vote, but who pay no taxes at all.
• The other group — The top 1% of taxpayers, who foot approximately 40% of American's bill.
Move the percentages around if you wish. Remind people that among the "rich," there are some people who inherited, rather than worked for, their money. It doesn't change the basic facts:
The most productive people in the country are locked in a constant economic vassalage to the least productive people in the country. And the democratic process keeps them there.
This can only be described as economic bondage.
To add insult to this injury...

Apparently, our side must fight even harder!
The democrat party has always been the pro-slavery party. This is just the logical next step.
It’s not that they don’t see the other side, they see it clearly and realize that in order to cross over they need to work hard.
Do you really think the people sponging off the giverment want to work hard?
Of course not, so as long as we have programs and policies in place that take from those that work and gives to those that don’t we’ll always have this unending cycle of Democrats telling the poor “We’ll take from them to give to you for your vote”.
It’s truly sad, I sometimes feel if Thomas Jefferson were alive today, he’d take it upon himself to personally squash this form of institutionalized financial slavery by force.
Truth be told, I doubt many men today have the courage, conviction and will of our Founding Fathers to stand up to an oppressive government, even though doing so may cost them everything they have including their owns lives.
We stand on the shoulders of giants, yet can’t see the trouble on the horizon.
A regenerating cycle of enforced transfer of the fruits of labor from one group of people to another is not covetousness. It is slavery.
Thanks for the post.
I agree and understand your concerns. However, if they are really never given the chance to see how freedom and independence feels; how will they know what it means to be free and have the pride that goes along with it?
I agree. People will probably always pay a price for freedom; but the reward is so much greater.
“ The other group The top 1% of taxpayers, who foot approximately 40% of American’s bill.”
1% isn’t much come election time.
I both resented and was grateful for my circumstances. Grateful because I was born in the USA and had the opportunity to do what I wanted but resentful because of the skewed, progressive tax system.
Having been retired for several years, I still vote and work for candidates that favor lower taxes because I really believe it is best for the country, {even though it doesn't effect me personally}.
The communists {now known as demonRATS} want only power and are all for using your money to get it.
Yeah but this theory falls entirely apart because 1% of voters don’t win elections.

1% vs. 50%. The first group is always going to win elections.
This is all true even if you have a flat tax. Taxes as percentages of income will always have one man paying more for the exact same product — government — than another man. Government is the only product where people accept this situation.
It really surprises me that the Constitution was not written to specifically prevent one group of citizens from preying on another through taxation. It would have been simple enough for the Constitution to specify the only legal method of taxation as a “head tax”, where the budgeted cost of government was equally bourne by every citizen. Today, the Federal government is so large that it would cost $10,000 for every man, woman, and child. It could never have gotten so large if everyone had to pay equal amounts.
True enough, but at least with a flat tax, everyone would be bearing an equal percentage. I think that too would go a long way to changing at least some of the current poisonous vibe of class dynamics.
One can never discoount the power of the kleptomaniac vote.
The democrat party has always been the pro-slavery party.

Too bad the descendants of enslaved ancestors can’t figure that out!
